Yes, but which Carol will actually appear?
Given that the show used another actress for the role right in the beginning, they probably have a better chance of resurrecting that role than some of the other part time characters, expecially ones not seen in a long time, because they've moved on.

huh? With the exception of Chandler's parents, is any of them played by famous actors? And don't rattle down some IMDB data. I've never heard or seen any of them outside Friends.

I agree none of the parents (with the exception of Chandler's) are doing much, if anything at all...BUT I must comment that Monica and Ross' mom played Julia's mom in The Wedding Singer. Same type of part, but it does suit her. =)

Ron Leibman, Rachel's father, was in Norma Rae and other tv and movies.
Ah, Morgan Fairchild plays Chandler's mother, and she's been on some fairly popular TV series.
Kathleen Turner plays Chandler's father? Who can forget "Romancing the Stone" and "Jewel of the Nile", and other movies.
Bob Balaban plays Phoebe's father, and who can forget his role in Third Encounter of the Third Kind. He's had so many roles (including the kid Jon Voigt takes the school books from in "Midnight Cowboy"), that it even got a mention in The Simpsons. He also played "Russell" the NBC executive on Seinfeld, who eventually runs off to be with Greenpeace to dazzle Elaine.
How many parents do we include here?
Cristine Rose playes Mike's mother, and she was the ex-wife (and mother of the kids) of the sheriff on Picket Fences. Even admitted to a lesbian affair at college (the character that is). She's had plenty of work, though I wouldn't recognize her name.
I don't recognize his father, in name or the face.
Have we ever seen Joey's parents? I can't even place seeing them on the show.

Yes -- in an earlier season (Season 2?), Joey's father came to visit -- it was the same episode with Phoebe dating the shrink guy that no one could stand (can't remember his name). Joey intercepted a phone call that his dad was on, thinking he was talking to his mother, and it turned out his father was talking to to his mistress, Ronnie, a pet-taxidermist. I don't know the actors that played those two parts. At the end of the episode, Joey's mother came in, played by Brenda Vaccaro.
Haven't watched that ep in a long, long time, so I can't remember a lot of the details. But yes, both Joey's parents were in it.

With that pointer, it's easier to find them than simply go through the list of actors for the show on TV Tome.
It turns out that episode was in the first season, episode 13. Robert Costanzo plays Joey's father, and while he's had plenty of work, I can't picture him.
The actress who played his mother is a different case. Brenda Vaccaro was in "Midnight Cowboy", and plenty of other things.
