808- The One With the Stripper

As is the theme of the season, this episode contained more moments of sentimentality and drama than comedy. But it was one of the better episodes this season.

They FINALLY had a Joey & Chandler storyline!!! Those two haven't had a storyline together in ages, and it was nice that they acknowledged it.

In some kind of twisted way, it was nice to see Monica strip for Chandler at the end to make up for getting him a hooker. Just a shame they only stopped with her taking off her shoes! ;-)

I think Dr. Green is probably the best parent of any of the Friends. He plays his uptight parental role so well. And it was great to see Mona staying on the show with Ross, they make a cute couple.

Phoebe was really underused tonight. She had like two lines after the commercial break. And she really needs to stop wearing those bangs, her hair looks so much nicer without them.

Overall, a good episode.

Oh, oh. oh, I REALLY like the bangs. Maybe it's just me, but I know their hair styles will all change with the next season. (Yes, I believe there will be a #9.) So, I'll enjoy the bangs this year. You can enjoy whatever they do next season. :-)

My scale is a little higher than yours. For example, I would have given 803 a B-, but that's a minor point. It's still the lowest of the eight so far, and the season, as a whole, is really great.

I know who you mean, but when I see the words Dr. Green I automatically think of "er"

Hey, wait a minute, his daughter's name is Rachel!

And that show used to have a Dr. Ross too. Hmmmmm

Seeing Chandler and Joey together was almost weird because it was so unusual. It seems as if we haven't seen the two of them together in the same storyline for ages, and all of a sudden we saw the friendship between them again. Hopefully, their hug is a sign of the two of them actually spending some time together in the future. And Monica was a funny bonus in their story, even though she didn't appear in many of their scenes.

As for Rachel, I can understand why she was terrified of her dad, but to blame Ross for her pregnancy, was out of line. Also, Phoebe was underused (as she has been so many times before), but the lines she had were rather good.

I have to say that I really enjoy the fact that Ross has a good and healthy relationship for once. I'm starting to think that he would be much better off with Mona than Rachel...

Joey, on the other hand, seemed too stupid. He has changed so much now and has been among the most sensible characters so far this season, that his lines about Chandler and marriage seemed out of character. Oh, well, I guess the writers can do whatever they want with the characters, but Joey has come too far IMHO to be destroyed to a simple air-head now...
