S3 of Friends apparently not a big fan favorite

Anybody buy both 2-DVD sets of "The Best of Friends?"    Each one has the top
10 fan favorites from the first 6 seasons (making 20 episodes in all).    S1
has the most favorite episodes for Friends fans, which is understandable, but
for whatever reasons, S3 has the fewest favorites.  Maybe fans didn't like it
because it's the season where Ross & Rachel broke up (with the famous "we were
on a break!" line which they still talk about in Friends episodes 5 years
later!!!), or maybe it was a down year for the sitcom, I don't know.

Anyway, here's the tally for both boxed DVD sets:

S1 episodes: 5 S2 episodes: 3 S3 episodes: 2 S4 episodes: 3* S5 episodes: 4 S6 episodes: 3* ------------------------ Total: 20

* means the season finale is one of the favorites.   Yes, the proposal (of
Chandler to Monica) is a fan favorite, contrary to what some people have said
on this newsgroup.   (Ross' wedding where Ross says "Rachel" instead of "Emily"
is the other finale).   The pilot is another, in addition to 2 Thankgiving eps.

funny, season 1 has all my least fav eps on it, i really only like "TOW Nana dies twice" i love a lot in season 3 like "TOW the jellyfish" that is a classic!! later wendy

Ummm isn't TOW The Jellyfish in series 4? Oh no, wait, did you mean "The One At The Beach"? Anyway... Despite the fact that season 3 lacks many of my all time favourite episodes, it actually remains the only season that I own in entirety on DVD. My personal favs include "TOW No-One's Ready" (Joey doing lunges while going commando, PRICELESS!) Or even in "TOW The Morning After" (an otherwise "sad" ep.) where the four Friends not involved in the breakup are trapped in Monica's bedroom, and provide an hilarious side to the story (eg. eating the organic "rainforest" leg wax, and eavesdropping on the conversation out in the livingroom). Season 3, while not having lots of hilarious episodes, is (in my humble opinion) quite crucial in that it really starts to get into a lot of relationship "issues" between the Friends, and is fundamental to the progression of the overall story for the show (in a light way, I think that during "The One At The Beach" is the first time that the writers throw the Chandler/Monica relationship possibility out there for us to "taste"?).

Season 3 has the best episodes of the series! I thought it was the best season, but it's true there are some weak episodes (but not as many as in season 4, 6 or 7). TOW the Football is my all time favorite. TOW No One's Ready is my second all time favorite. What about TOW the Flashback, TOW Princess Leia Fantasy, TOW The Morning After, TOW the Beach, TOW the Giant Poking Device? Season 7 is the worst season of all. Half of the episodes of season 6 suck too.

My personal favorite Thanksgiving episode is last year's, with JA's hubby Brad Pitt guest starring (TOW the rumor). Brad's character "hating" Rachel, Joey eating the entire turkey, and the two rumors (Rachel the "hermaphrodite cheerleader", Ross making out with the 50-year old librarian) were hilarious.

Correction again, there are 4 Thankgiving episodes.   Wow.   The Friends
producers and writers apparently throw out their best stuff at Thanksgiving
time (maybe also because of November sweeps).   The S4 one (TOW Chandler in a
box) is also a fan favorite.   So S3-S6 Thankgiving eps are all included in the
"Best of Friends" DVDs.

FYI, I just bought both DVD sets and haven't watched them all, so that's why I keep correcting myself.
