Mona and Katie

I've been wondering recently, does anybody else think that the reason for Ross meeting two perfectly nice and attractive women, who are also interested in his career, during the 8th season, yet not lasting very long with either of them, was some kind of foreshadowing/hidden message? (I apologize for the complicated sentence structure :) )

Although Rachel helped Ross in his relation with Mona on a few occasions and didn't seem to be jealous of her at all, Mona ended it, because Rachel had moved in with Ross. And in 807 or 808, she talkd to Ross about his situation with Rachel, and implies that she considers Rachel a rather large threat to their relation.

With Katie, Rachel saw her flirting with Ross and became totally jealous (hormone driven or not, she was jealous), so she told Ross to stop seeing Katie, because she'd rather have him around to help her with the baby.

So, whether she does it on purpose or not, Rachel is the reason for Ross not getting anywhere with other women, simply because of their history (and the fact that they have a baby together now)

What do you think? Am I just stating the obvious here, or am I way off?

Yes, and because of that I don't like Rachel. Emily was actually the best girlfriends that Ross ever had and I do somehow wish that they get back together. But I can tell you how Friends will end sometimes: Ross and Rachel are getting married (again). But what's with Joey and Phoebie? I cannot imagine how the could get married..... do you?

I don't think Joey and Phoebe are going to get married before or in the ninth season finale, that would be just too fast and weird. I think Joey's acting career will really kick in at the end of ninth season, and phoebe might be dating someone serious. But I don't think they will end up together, or marry anybody before the show is over. What do you all think?

I thought that this is already a fact, that at the end of friends there will be "Chandler-Monica", "Ross-Rachel" and "Joey-Phoebie" as couples ... am I wrong?

Ok, I hope that this situation is still far away, because I don't want Friends to be over. By the way, does anybody know, how many seasons we still can expect?

Where did you got that?

It was in magazines all over the place. It was also discussed on the board here. The friends cast agreed to do one more season, but then that's it. And they'll be paid $1 million each per episode (!!!), which is quite some money :-)

No kidding? But if they keep payed that way why not to excpect another 3-4 or more seasons?

it's not just the money. they are sick of it! after 9 seasons i'd want to do something else as well.
