Ross knocking on his own door.

Hey! Did anyone notice that TOW the thanksgiving flashback Ross knocked on his door to his house with Chandler? Just wondering why he'd do that. Anyone else notice this?

Most front doors don't remain unlocked when closed, and most people living at college wouldn't have a front door key to their parents house. I know I don't.

Yes and no. I let myself in if my parents are out, or appear to be cooking or otherwise busy. If I see them in the living room before I get to the door, I ring the bell to be polite. If I have luggage, more to the point, I knock (on the window with an elbow) because I can't get a hand free to get the key out and to the lock. :) Did Ross and Chandler have luggage?

But what is confusing is the first time they come home ffrom college they just walk on it. (the time with Chandlers flock of seagulls haircut(or whatever it's called)) then the next time they knock. They only did this so Rachel would have a way to get out of seeing Jack's place on his body where his mole cluster was removed. I just noticed this re-watching the episode.

Yea its different when its your parents house.

I noticed this, everytime they knock I think its bazaar because they never knock before entering each others apartments, or they do very rarly. Joey and Chandler knocked to get in Monica and Rachel's apartment in some episode in season 5 I just saw the repeat too, I cant remember which one RIGHT NOW..

hmmm, you know my memory is never very clear and I can never place things, it could have been in a repeat I saw at 11 and didn't tape..

I thought it was a season 5 though argh!! I dont remember at all now.

I know but it's really bothering me now!

I think I have more then 11 episodes on tape. Last night I was looking for one episode while I was waiting for my very slow scanner, (I had to scan 6 pictures too!! it took at least an hour! MP ones!!) and I missed a tape when I brought them down. I went looking through all the tapes and got freaked out taht maybe it got taped over. (TOW all the Thanksgivings) and finally I thought maybe I better check upstairs to see if I forgot one, or one fell (after I looked through the others TWICE) and lone behold there was one there on the floor and it was the one with that episode *just my luck* but I indeed have 7 tapes full of friends episodes ALREADY, and approximately 4 episodes on a tape.

Sure isn't. A lot of people still seem to care a lot about using SP. With my old home VCR I would have agreed but the VCR I use now seems to produce pretty good results on LP. The way I see it if you can put up with a Sky One logo in the corner (they do do that yeah?) then you can probably put up with a bit of grain. Only thing I can think of is they'll probably fade quicker. Sadly seasons *just* fall short of fitting E240's. What are the longest tapes available? Is there a digital storage version of VHS that uses the same media?

the longest tapes I've seen to buy are 2 hours and 20 minutes in SP mode 8 hours LP mode. THis is for VHS. But I am not always home to cut out commercials so thats why some have 5 or 6 episodes and some only 4 on each..

First I have to go through and label the tapes. It is so hard to find an episode because I didnt label them..

I dont know let me look on the tape about the time. It's a T-160 and 2 and 3/4 hours for SP 5 and 1/3 for LP and 8 for EP. The ones I bought yesterday are of a much better quality. "TDK" then the Maxwell ones.

Certainly, but it took me years to get a clue. Season 2 was where I started, and its spread over 4 different tapes interspersed with American Gothic (damn fine cancelled show) and quite honestly, is an ordeal to marathon with. When you sit down for a marathon you don't want to have to change tapes every 3-4 episodes, it involves standing. Check it:

One tape - 201,202,217-219 Two tape - 203-206,209-216 Three tape - 220-224 Four tape - 207,208

= 5 tape changes :)

The advantage of starting the one-series-per-tape tactic a long time ago (1991, when I first got my own vcr). I have complete tapes of American Gothic, Roseanne (all but the 2nd series), Red Dwarf series 6-8, Dancing In The Street, To The Manor Born, Twin Peaks (except then I bought the prerecorded vids), etc etc. I really wish I'd recorded My So-Called Life, but most other shows I like I have in marathon-watchable form. :)

OH yea that was a good show! I wished I had kept hold of the tapes and made sure not to record over friends.. even if my mom wanted to. But back then I didnt have a job so I was broke.. *even more broke then I am now*

ahh but some of them that I have are season 6 episodes, throw them in and its ALL mixed up. Especially on thursdays when I work, I get the old one and a season 6 one back to back with commercials.

now I'm taping 2 episodes a day the late and the early.. In 3 weeks the late will catch up to where I started taping the early so I only have to tape one a day! Can't wait till that happens..of course by then I'll be out of school and won't have to worry about getting sleep.

I started labeling the tapes.. on one tape I have season 1,4,5,6 episodes all on the same tape!
