I stayed up to watch it. For the most part, a pretty lame interview (typical Leno). A few observations: 1. He looked extremely nervous at the beginning (an actor making up his own lines?) 2. Like everyone else, he believes this will be the final season. 3. He seemed to be genuinely happy about his Emmy nomination. I think it would have been wiser to downplay it, especially if he doesn't win. 4. Leno put him in an awkward position by presenting him with a pet dog. At least Matt had the good sense not to refuse it on the spot and come off looking like the bad guy. I'll bet the dog was returned after the show or was given to one of his relatives soon after. 5. His favorite vehicle is a pick-up truck. 6. If he's not taking steroids, then he's working out pretty heavily. His arms were huge.

I hope Jennifer is a little more engaging and provocative. It's obvious she's only going on the show to promote her new movie 'The Good Girl' so she may not have any more to say about Friends than Matt did.

Others like Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer have no problem saying this is the last season, because they don't need the show anymore.

Leno doesn't believe this the last year of Friends because he keeps hearing that NBC have nothing to replace it with. MLB was so guarded in his remarks, he kept repeating that it was the last year AS FAR AS HE KNOWS. When he asked Leno if he knew more, Leno hinted that he did, and very vaguely asked if the cast were renegotiating. MLB just fell back on what Kauffman & Crane *probably* thought, and then got very uncomfortable about being out on a limb in the conversation.

Is "is" is or is "is" not is? Give me a break!!! The producers have said this is the last season and Le Blanc did nothing to dispell that. It is true, Marta Kauffman in particlar said recently they could be talked into a tenth season but they would have to know "well in advance." That's all. There is no evidence the producers are negotiating for a tenth season and as their employee Le Blanc was smart enough to realize he is in no position to be encouraging speculation there might be. Reading any more into it is just stupid.

Well, NBC will drop "Friends" as said and relaunch it as "Couples" in autumn 2003, which allows them to easily drop one or two of the actors, LK most likely.
