Was Lovitz supposed to be the same character from The One With The Stoned Guy? The synopsis implied so, and they're both named Steve, but I don't think they mentioned any history with Monica in last night's show.
My digital cable info box says that he was indeed Monica's ex lover. Of course it has been known to be wrong.
