Kazza is great....if you don't mind 5-7 different spy ware on your computer. If you don't know what spy ware is, it is programs that are downloaded onto your computer with out you even knowing it and it watches (spies) which web pages you go to and that is why you will receive junk mail. It watches your information them spyware companies sell this information to other companies. I use to use Kazza also but I stopped once I found this out. It is your choice with what you do, but this is for the people that did not know this. I am not Bashing Kazza either, as alot of internet sites do, do this. This is from one person to another.

No, you do not get spam because of Kazaa. Secondly, move all your video files from "My Shared folder" to one you've created in my documents or something. Uninstall Kazaa, and I think "My shared folder" will stay anyway, but move them somewhere just to be sure.

i'd take any article published (and referring to a "report" filed with the SEC) on april 1 (april fool's day) with a grain of salt. all adware/spyware does to your system is suck up resources and cause popup windows that are tailored to your browsing habits. its more of an annoyance than anything - if this software was able to allow these companies to remotely "turn on" your computer or access your hard drive (and admitted this goal in a report to a government agency), they'd be in a world of trouble because that would be quite illegal.
anyways, the point of this is basically - if you want to keep your computer adware/spyware free, use kazaa. if you want to have a little more privacy, use kazaa lite.

No it wasn't an April Fools. I thought it was at first but Yahoo! Finance carries all SEC submissions including the notorious one from Sharman Networks about their plans for the next year.... including the use of CPU cycles on your PC.... passing data about where you've been on the internet etc..

Andre has just done it for me. Basically, Kazaa lite is written by people who go against the grain, which isn't always a good thing, but remember they don't have profits in mind whilst doing it!
