I have 2 curious questions which have been bugging me for a while:

1) Why is it that overseas Friends airs uncut on syndication and YET are able to buy the full series on DVD while here in the USA, Friends airs WITH EDITS on syndication and YET are not entitled to buying the full series on DVD?

2) When they show the episodes on syndication here in the USA, does anybody notice how some scenes are speeded up a bit or are my eyes deceiving me? An example would be in TOW the Dirty Girl, in the scene where Ross and Cheryl are making out on her dirty couch and some times the in-between-scenes.

Channel 4 once did this to the whole 2nd part of the wedding episode, probably to make it fit a 25 minute slot or something.
