The CSMC Prenatal Diagnosis Center is no exception. Why, just last week, Courteney Cox Arquette, 36, stopped by for a visit. She had cute hubby David Arquette by her side. The darling twosome, who have been married since 1999, headed to the 10th floor, where expectant mothers filled the waiting area.
According to preggers sources who were leafing through copies of People and In Style, the often photographed C.C.A. and D.A. announced themselves to the receptionist, saying they were there for a test that's common for mothers-to-be.
"Oh, let me take you back into an office, so you don't have to wait out here," offered the nice assistant in a whispered tone. "You'll be more comfortable." (Celebrity has its privileges, you know, even when it comes to poking and prodding.)
As the happy couple--she in sunglasses, jeans and a short-cropped jacket, he in dark green pants--were escorted away from the common folk, one of the nearby dads cheerfully said to Dave-babe, "Congratulations!"
"Thank you," said the 31-year-old member of the famous acting clan. And oddly enough, it was he who had a feature more in common with most of the gals in that place: Mr. A.'s skin, according to onlookers, "was absolutely gorgeous, just glowing."
Could this all mean that one of the hippest couples in Hollywood are creating a family?
"No," replied a source closerthanclose to Ms. C.A. "I promise you Courteney is not pregnant."
Why the prenatal visit, then? I asked.
"I don't know," answered the flack. "It's none of my business. Why do people want to know this, anyway?"
I said I thought that being one of the most popular performers in the history of American television might have something to do with it.
