Those are good examples. Also, there's the entire backstory he created for Ursula, which would be one thing if he presented it as "this is what I imagine for Ursula." But he presents it as canonical "fact" (ex: Ursula had contact with their birth mom, who somehow at least partially raised her while Phoebe was on the streets, etc. etc.).

As for Andr�, whenever he is presented with textual evidence (again something which I'd have thought Belphoebe would be hot on) he simply refuses to read it, if such disagrees with his prejudices. Perhaps he might like to actually *watch* that episode (822), where Joey being 'unable' to add $500 + $500 got him out of paying back $1,000 - and then compare this with the beginning of 613 "TOW Rachel's Sister", where Joey accurately added up $4.50 + $2.75 + $4.25 + $1.25 in less than 3 seconds. But then Andr� hates being proved wrong.

I can understand that the point you are making is that when it is to his advantage he pretends to be stupid but in general i think that both cases were largely blown out of porportion. There are numerous example that show that Joey is not that bright that more down to earth.

For example, how do you explain Joey spelling PLEH so that it can bee seen from someone high above?

Why are you getting so worked up about this? To me, this Joey thing lost its is appeal after that drawn out debate two years ago.
