I am from Poland and sometimes (not so long ago I had similar problem and you have helped me) I have troubles with translating English scripts into Poland. In 7 and 8th season episodes I found two phrases that I cannot find anywhere. These are: - "French cut" - "tootsie roll".

tootsie roll is a chocolate candy. french cut...something to do with clothes, i think...im not too sure..

I'm not certain about the context of the "French cut" expression from Friends, but green beans that are cut at an angle rather than straight across the bean are sold as "French cut." The same would be true for a dessert I ate recently. It was listed in the menu as having "French cut" bananas.
For "tootsie roll" I'm sure they were referring to the chewy candy, but it is also the name of a mixed drink, which happens to taste very much like the candy. It's not exactly chocolate, in that it doesn't melt in your mouth, but that is roughly the flavor. They come in many sizes from the large (shaped like a good Cuban cigar) to small, bite size cylinders of joy. I love them.
Goes to show where my mind is.. contrary to the follow-up posts, my first thought upon reading that was: "panties"?
Don't remember the episode so I don't know which of us is right.

French - cut refers to a type of underwear style. I'm not entirely sure, but I believe they are a high-cut panty.
