There have been two major couples since the beginning of Friends, Rand R and C and M. Many people dislike one or the other. My question is what could be done to the couple you dislike, so that you would like them more.

I hope most C&M fans are fond of R&R, and most R&R fans are fond of C&M, as we all love the show (even those who are worried by Season 6).

Yeah, Ross and Rachel are cool! But the Chandler and Monica haters on the AOL boards are so.... They say such mean things so that I have to dig around to find all of Ross and Rachel's flaws. :P I don't like that person I become then.
Really, if they wrote her like Dan Silverstein wrote her, She's funny and still neurotic. Remember Chandler and Monica are suppose to be the most neurotic ones :)

You've not been on the net too long, have you Tennant? :) What you're suggesting seems to be the exception, rather than the rule, unfortunately (and I know I don't exactly help matters).
Sadly, I've discovered most R&R fans dispise CHandler and Monica.... Most Chandler and Monica fnas like ROss and Rachel, I hate that.

Exactly. Many would have considered THEM the best "couple" on the show, but now I can't recall the last good plot they had alone together.

You're kidding me, aren't you? 607 was one of her worst episodes thus far for complete neuroticness! And in 609, she just *had* to make Ross look even worse than she did for not telling her parents that she was even dating Chandler, let alone living with him. And in 614, I just wanted to smack her - if she finds *so* many flaws in Chandler, then why the hell is she dating him?!

Well, I think the most neurotic person in 607 was Chandler. I mean, he was the one who was going crazy thinking that Monica would kill him if she found out about him cleaning their apartment. But she didn't freak out when she found out. Yeah, she obviously knows all about where the refrigerator magnets should go, but she was grateful that he had cleaned the place. ( I guess it really didn't need it, but who knows... :) )
Did you think she was that neurotic in 614? I don't know about that one. Perhaps when she was talking about her eulogy.

It was almost a carbon copy of 602, when she was basically trying to milk Rachel for some upset - except this time it was the supposed love of her life. She takes him for granted, and expects him to basically conform to her very strict standards - how on earth is that a healthy relationship?! (And yes, I realise the same is true of R&R to an extent, but not nearly to the same extent as it is here. At least R&R had an official purpose; with C&M, it's just not knowing what to do with them.)

Basically, I think they'll have to do something serious (marriage, kids...), so that new storylines can come as a result of that. Because let's face it, the show about "twentysomethings" now features a cast of "thirtysomethings". But if any of this was going to happen, the writers would have to stay clear of the clich�s.

At the moment, the only way I can see them getting out of this rut is if they break them up temporarily. A lot of people (not all, but a lot) are sick to the back teeth of them, and now people are complaining that the characters are boring - it's time to give it a rest.
Oh, sorry, I forgot, that's not *healthy*, is it? Never mind the fact that it's a TV show, and is therefore not meant to be like real relationships. <rolls eyes>
