My guess is that, to Joey, he will be as "supportive" as possible......even though, deep down, he will be totally DEVASTATED at the idea of the two of them getting together.....
FWIW, Ross has totally mishandled this pregnancy with Rachel, if indeed, getting back together with her is what he really wants. He could have really "made a case" for why they should get married as soon as he found out they were going to have a baby......but instead, he continued his relationship with Mona....
I really really REALLY do not want Ross and Rachel to end up together....
I think Ross will lapse into a state of shock and stand where he was in Central Perk for the entire episode, causing hijinks galore for the cast, and real annoyances for anyone who wants to get in for a cup of coffee.
My favorite comedy show of all time....I Love Lucy...have seen all the episodes numerous times. I miss Lucille Ball...she's definately the Queen of Comedy.

You know what would be a real trip though? How this: Ross and Joey decide they both love Rachel, but neither can go after her knowing how the other feels. The each make plans to meet her at Central Perk, but because of their new deal, they both stand her up. In the meantime, all the customers leave, and it's just Rachel and Gunther. And all of his dreams come true in one simple moment.
Even though I think Ross will feel a bit betrayed, he doesn't have a reason to put Joey in a box. He has not made any romantic moves on Rachel (their date was after all purely friendly until they came home and Joey became very confused), and he has now come clean and told Ross about his feelings. Since Joey keeps saying that nothing can ever happen between him and Rachel (he even said that to Ross), Ross cannot get furious with him. That would be very unfair.
But as for Ross's reaction, I don't think he'll encourage Joey either. After 815, this seems to become a storyline about friendship rather than a romantic relationship between Joey and Rachel. Will Ross's friendship with Joey survive this? Will Joey manage to keep his relationship with Rachel from getting awkward?
Why does everybody assume that Joey will have a "relationship" with Rachel? He has feelings...she does not. I mean if she didn't show any feelings after their date i dunno what will get her to care for him in a romantic sense.
I'm afraid you misunderstand what I'm trying to say. When I said "relationship" in that post, I didn't necessarily mean a romantic/sexual relationship, but merely the friendship and close relationship Joey and Rachel have had for a long time now. We saw that he looked a bit uncomfortable around Rachel in 815, so it's going to be interesting to find out whether he will tell her about his feelings before things get really awkward between them.
I watched Buffy yesterday [1] with Spike telling Buffy he loved her. I'd like to see Rachel reacting similar to Buffy. Although I fear there's coming something between B&S. Nevermind.
Its not going to be easy for Ross to turn around and go ballistic on Joey after the conversation he'd just had with him. It'll make Ross less likeable. IMO.
I was kidding. If Ross put Joey in a box, the result would be tired, derivative, repetitive, and it would bring down the story. Ross is going to put Joey in Monica's closet instead. :-)
Actually, I've seen a spoiler, and I really am kidding. Just remember a few things:
In the first place, Rachel haven't shown more feelings for Joey than she did for Ross lately. Second, it depends whether the executives decided R&R to still have secret feelings for each other. If they did, I bet on Ross's "come out" in 816.

You -- like others -- seem to always forget that it takes two.
I know the words, yet I miss the sense, sorry, my fault probably. Ross is a bit old fashioned, already has one kid outside a marriage, is still confused, used to love her, loves the baby, is a jerk => there was no way he didn't come up with marriage, although he could have done more respectful and taking it less granted.
I fear that this Joey/Rachel plot is just a device to get Ross and Rachel back together. Although I do think that the writers originally thought this season would be the series' last, and now that "Friends" thorough ass-kicking of "Survivor" this year has virtually guaranteed a ninth, that Ross/Rachel reunion might take a bit longer than was originall envisioned.
Good writing is all about misdirection. Either the writers misdirected us with Ross and Rachel for eight years in order to lead to Rachel and Joey, or they are misdirecting us now with Joey and Rachel to lead to a Ross/Rachel reunion. There also exists a third possibility: we're all still being misdirected, and won't know where it will lead until the final episode. Personally I'm hoping for 3) but anticipating 1).

I think their date was an opportunity to see Joey romantically since Joey saw Rachel romantically, rachel had her chance to see him romantically and its over...there was no feelings..thats it. Give up...it ain't gonna happen.
