Is it just me, or has the writing on FRIENDS changed? Don't get me wrong, its still an awesome show, and I will watch forever, but it seems to me that the writing has lost some of the hot quality it used to have. Pretty much the same storylines are happening as the ones which have been for the last couple of years. Face it folks, Monica and Chandler getting engaged was not that big of a surprise, as their wedding won't be a big surprise either. Nothing really earth-shattering has happened in a while...
I think that Rachel should find out that that Tag guy is gay, and then his ex-girlfriend that they mentioned will discover the news and start to harass Rachel, blaming her for "turning her true love on to men"...Rachel will successfully avoid this ex, untill she meets her face to face, when it is realized that this girlfriend was a sorority sister of Rachel's sister, Jill. As a peace offering, Rachel will hire Tag's ex-girlfriend as her new assistant (it has never been mentioned what happened to Tag's position at Ralph Lauren).
Another idea: Emily Waltham will come back into Ross's life, as Dean of a prestigious London university and she offers him a job exploring, and studing ancient fossil remains, but he must move to London. This can be part of the season cliff-hanger, where Ross decides to move to London, while at the same time stumbling upon his buried passion for Rachel.
I also think Central Perk should go up for sale, and then Joey decides to buy the place. It gets very crowded as his reputations of a soap star attracts more people in New York. At the end of the season, Joey will have a nervous breakdown (because of the pressure of managing the coffee-house, rehearsing for Days Of Our Lives, and orchestrating Monica and Chandler's wedding) and he will be committed in a psyche ward. However, he escapes so he can perform Monica and Chandler's wedding.
I think it would be funny if Phoebe develops an alter-ego, or split personality called "Phoebe 2" where she is a coo-coo fortune-teller who predicts the future. This will lead Phoebe into confusing everyone, making them think that Phoebe 2 is actually Ursula, and she can hear what everyone thinks of her. When the matter comes out, Phoebe decides to make money off Phoebe 2 by becoming a professional psychic.
Monica and Chandler do get married of course, and the wedding goes by smoothly, but the problem comes on the honeymoon...they sail away on the Mr. Bowmont and get deserted on an island....with the Cast of Survivor, Tom Hanks, Giligan and his crew. This would be a very funny couple of episodes. ------------------------ Next season: I have an idea that when Ross leaves for London, and Joey's nervous breakdown make it into the tabloids, Rachel and Joey, depressed, get drunk and wake up not knowing if they had sex...they assume they didn't, but a week later, Rachel finds out that she is pregnant! (I don't think this incident should cause any romance whatsoever between Rachel and Joey, but just a creative new situation where they both become parents, who aren't involved with eachother, but very much love their son or daughter)...Ross will end up returning from London when Emily abuses her professional power over him to get revenge and he realizes he is inlove with Rachel...The two will get back together just as Carol and Susan run away together, leaving Ben, who has turned into a dare-devil, in Ross's custody. This will mean that Rachel will move in with Ross, because it is too weird living with Joey now, and they don't want to confuse their baby, and she must also deal with being a full-time step-mother-figure and working at Ralph Lauren.
