Bad R&R News (Possible Spoilers)

I was just reading my TV Guide, and there was an article about Eddie Cahill in it. The producers might EXPAND his stint on the show.

Rachel's Assistant Moves To 'Felicity' Wed, Nov 15, 2000 04:38 PM PDT

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Eddie Cahill, best known as the cute assistant Rachel recently hired on NBC's "Friends," will appear in at least three episodes of "Felicity," according to a WB spokeswoman. Cahill will play James, the "bad news" boyfriend of Molly, played by British actress Sarah-Jane Potts.

The actor may also be remembered by some on HBO's "Sex and the City" where he played Sarah Jessica Parker's younger bisexual boyfriend last season. Cahill will appear on "Felicity" from Nov. 29 until Dec. 13, when the show breaks for "Jack and Jill."

Does anybody seriously like this character? He is as boring as Elizabeth.

Since he is signed for 6 episodes, and he isn't appearing in every episode, it already looks like he'll still be here come February sweeps. Why would the writers want him longer? No guest character has stayed for more than six episodes since Emily.

But this actually could be good thing. If they are extending his appearances, maybe that means they are going to take this story somewhere interesting. I doubt the writers would ask him to stay if they only plan on making him develop some strange character trait.

Either way, hopefully the writers will give R&R fans something to look forward to in February. I don't think I can stand another whole month of C&M pre-wedding stories.

Pretty much. I don't know how satisfying it would be, but the writers seem set on not getting them back together anytime soon. If they figure it's that complicated and pairing them back up long-term would be too tricky, then forget it. For the most part, I see little chance of R&R getting back together before the final episode, or maybe the episode before the final episode. Besides, I would like to see R&R get back together in the final episode (if it's done right) rather than them not get back together at all. After all, they only reunited Doug & Carol on "ER" in Juliana Margulese's (sp) last episode.

It's like a fan of Chandler & Janice or Joey & Angela trying to take comfort from them being together for years before the first episode.
