Here is a slight snyopsis.
Joey's fridge breaks and he tries to get everyone to pay for it..THIS
WAS HILARIOUS! First Rachel..because he's his roomate for a few
weeks..Then Chandler because he used to live there(a good Joey and
Chandler scene)
..lmao and he still has to pay because "Its like a divorce..and when
you have a child and the child dies and you have to buy a new one" Then
he pushes Ross into the old one to say that he broke it..Then he tells
Pheobe that she owes him 400$ for it..but then Pheobe came up with that
he owed her 600$ for the happy thought messages or something..
Then the gang meets Ross's girlfriend...they all crack some jokes
*some were really good* and we see them sneaking around...(hmm I wouldnt
have thought that htey would risk it that much by sneaking around IN the
school) and she tells him that she is going to go to Florida on Spring
break...and then the gang tells him that a spring BREAK means she's
going to be partying with other guys and ... So he gets all paranoid and
then at the end we see him dancing with her in Florida getting taped on
MTV.
Rachel had to go to some charity event for her work and wanted a
date so Monica and Chandler, and Phoebe both find her dates and compete
with each other for who has the best one. But Rachel has already met a
guy...and then they scare him away, then they both(meaning *chandler and
monica* and *phoebe*) end up bringing their dates to her on the same
day. Rachel doesnt want to choose so picks neither and goes alone.
This wasnt one of the best episodes it was ok. It had some funny
moments. I didnt like the storyline with C&M&P&R that much..My fav
scene was with C&J. Maybe its just because I'm depressed today
though....how did you guys like this episode?
I'm assuming he is slimming down for a film role. Maybe the one he's starting to work on in England. It would make sense that he would have to be in very good physical condition. He did bulk up pretty well for Six Days Seven Nights. And yes, his hair was wierd tonight, but thankfully not nearly as bad as Lisa's or MP's.
No friggin' doubt! What is this? All the women on Friends have to look the same??? Lisa Kudrow does not look as good with hair like Jennifer Aniston. Actually, I can't figure out why JA is growing her hair that long either, but that's another story. Long hair is nice, but not THAT long. Ewww.
He did mention that his mother gave him the fridge so the apartment probably didnt come with a fridge so therefore the landlord wouldnt have to pay for it. ~act
Yes. She's charming, and she's really nice to Ross. If it did end this year, I would not be terribly sorry to see Elizabeth transfer to another university, or Ross take another job, and have them stay together. We could have her celebrate her 21st birthday in the series finale as Rachel pensively considers that this ship has sailed again.
I haven't watched it yet (it airs in 45 minutes), but based on the last new one and the spoilers, I don't think i'll agree with you on this one.

I thought this was an average episode by season 6 standards, which isn't saying a whole lot. I thought the storyline with Joey's fridge was funny. C&M and Pheobe trying to find Rachel a date was terrible IMO. I think I sided with Pheobe the second Monica started making a competition out of it. It's bad enough that Monica has to be so competitive in an over the top way, but now Chandler too??? Tonight was a perfect example of a situation where C&M could have very easily had seperate storylines and it would have made it better.
I didn't mind Elizabeth at all. I didn't particularely like that Ross seemed so jealous and needy with someone who is so much younger than him, though. I would think that someone who has experienced as many things as Ross has would be more composed in a situation like this. Of course, I shouldn't be surprised. Something that bothered me was that Ross made a point of telling everyone that he wasn't looking for anything serious, but then does all this stuff to seem needy. And given what we know about the next couple eps, they seem to contridict what he said tonight. I thought the tag was very funny.
One other thing. I've been reading some posts on other sites about this episode and it's getting panned. They are looking at this episode as another example of the show running out of ideas and that maybe it's time to end it. I disagree only because I know of one storyline that I think would help give things a boost. But only if the writers make the commitment to get it done and let the two actors(I wonder who?) do their thing. And by that I mean stop with the runaround and get R&R together and satisfy some of the people who have been so disappointed this season. C&M was able to spark the show last season because it was new and R&R getting together at the end of this season and for next season could do the same thing because it would basically be new.
But we do know that Ross is paranoid now because of his other relationships.

There have been some good episodes this season..there always is a few bad ones in a season...
They could do some interesting things with C&M and I'm starting to get pissed off that they arent doing it...they have them on a plateu and its bugging the hell out of me..make soemthing happen..there is plenty of good storylines that they can use..gee do they want ME to send them a few??

But this season we have had a larger number of bad ones. It's unreal what some fans are saying following this episode. I think most people I've heard from are saying this is probably the worst season to date. I would consider this season a disappointment.
I think they know what storylines C&M fans would want to see, but there are consequences to weddings or pregnancies and I happen to think the negatives in terms of what it would do to the show outweigh the positives. I think the only way they'll get married is if this is the last season. If there is another, a marriage won't be the right thing for them this season.
BASICALLY BE NEW!!! That it's been so long since they've been TOGETHER AS A COUPLE that it would be a refreshing change to the show that might be able to get them out of the slump they've been in. I would venture to guess that there is a large portion of viewers of the show who haven't seen R&R together as a couple except in reruns. And I don't see how you can be getting sick of them getting together and breaking up since it hasn't happened in nearly 3 years(TOW the Jellyfish). I'm getting sick of them teasing us with a reunion which is why I think it should just get done.
wait a sec true fans would have watched every episode at least once if they could (and for me, it was five times roughly for each one, not counting season 5 where I have seen each episode at least 9 times, and TOW everybody finds out 20 odd times )
and I definately did see Ross and Rachel together, apart, together, apart, married and divorced. so it's not like I have had enough of them, it's just that the storyline seems to be wearing a little thin.. but I reckon it will end with them deciding to make one last go for it ..
I guess I'm going to have to clarify what I meant(sigh). Just because someone(not you, but anyone in general) watches new episodes every week, doesn't mean they have seen every episode. There are many reasons, for which I'm notting going to get into now, why a person may not watch episodes in syndication or didn't watch the show from the beginning. There are many, many people like this and they make up a huge amount of the 25 million people who watch new episodes. Many of these people may not have ever seen a new episode where R&R were together or even one in syndication where they were together. So for these people, the idea of them being a couple is new. And quite frankly, it would be practically like new to me because it's been so long and they are both very different than 3-4 years ago.
I think you're missing my point. I too think that the whole teasing a reunion thing is getting old and I think most R&R fans would agree with that. That's why I think it's best for the show if they just get together.

I wouldn't count on it. Like I said earlier, I hear that something happens to turn things way bad, probably before Chandler even gets the chance to propose. This is one case where I think the writers might actually have a vague idea of what they're doing, for once.
Well, if things were to go bad, I think a good way to do it would be for Monica to unknowingly screw up Chandler's proposal plans and then everything goes awry and they break up without Monica ever knowing Chandler was trying to propose. Then of course she could find out and that would lead to their reunion. I've always thought this is what should have happened with R&R, but obviously it's too late for that so it might as well be used for C&M. It might suck to for awhile for C&M fans, but I think in the end, it would be worth the wait. And it might force Monica to re-evaluate the way she treats Chandler.
Yeah, definetely. Having Rachel find out that Ross was going to propose that night might have made things a lot better, but since it wasn't used on them, Monica and Chandler should have the storyline. The problem is, two episodes is most likely not enough to have them take a quick break and go through all that.

I agree Claire. For one, up to the recent spoiler the "success" for C&M hasn't actually happened. Two, even if it does, it's not a reason for C&M fans to bash on R&R. I've personally resigned myself to the idea that an R&R reunion just might not happen or ever be mentioned again, but it's still a little difficult if aside from seeing M&C happen, we get it rubed in our face by the fans.

AHHHHHHHHHH I cant believe what I just saw...I DONT WANT TO KNOW ANY SPOILERS!!!...That is one reason why I was disappointed in this episode because I have heard that something is going to happen..and it didnt in this episode. I only read the first few words..PLEASE watch the spoilers for 619 on I dont want any hints except from the show itself..which I am seeing some..and I have mentioned SOME of hte ones I noticed..

I think that's true. Phoebe has kissed both Ross and Joey twice with either pleasantness or enthusiasm, but she clearly, clearly is not comfortable with the idea of being too close to Chandler. I don't think she really likes him that much.

I would have liked this better if they had rewritten Chandler's part in it. The scenes where Joey's trying to con Ross, and Rachel, and Phoebe were all very well done and provided big laughs. When Chandler saw his plight and refused to help, all I could think of was...
OK, in this same season Chandler has tried to trick Joey into believing he's won $1500 from Chandler in "Cups." He tried to slip Joey money ALL EPISODE LONG. Later this same year, Joey needed medical attention and had no insurance. Chandler offered him money for the operation then. Both times Joey turned Chandler's aid down. Now Joey needs money because something broke which Chandler actually used for six years, and helped wear out. And Chandler refuses to help him?
That was sloppy. Really, really sloppy. They should either have avoided the Chandler angle or found some way for Chandler to be unable to offer aid. I do not believe that Chandler would not help Joey buy a new fridge after the way he's behaved at other times this year. Just don't believe it.
The only problem I had with this is small, really kind of nit-picky. I've got a ringing sense of deja vu. Didn't we hear some jokes that were virtually identical with Young Ethan? Obviously the new, young writers do not know all the old, most memorable episodes. I think if I were writing this I'd at least have had Ross mention Ethan when Monica piped up and had her abruptly turn red and shut up.

No, neither did I. And remember, I've been around an actual student/teacher affair. This was not that believable, though moments were funny. It's passable. The scenes worked OK.

Another continuity flag, and this one is kind of important. This group of people knows that Ross has severe problems with jealousy. Monica has scolded him about it repeatedly. I can't quite buy the idea that Mr. Jealousy was calm and happy until his friends, who have fussed at him so much for being jealous, convince him to be worried.
So he gets all paranoid and
I have to say I liked this ending much more than I thought I would. For some reason, I thought the MTV broadcast was going to show Elizabeth dancing with happily with guys and Ross spying on her furtively and neurotically from another part of the crowd. This showed a pretty joyful date and Elizabeth was obviously enjoying Ross' company and was glad he had joined her. It may leave the impression he's not entirely dignified, but he's found a way to solve his problem that seems to have made everybody happy. William, Ross won this one.
Actually, I'm not sure, but I think they've toned Ross down a bit. This is not the character who first hooked me to the show, but now I CAN see that this could be the same person five years on after some heartache. A little more fragile, maybe, and a little foolish, but no longer crazy. He's not disturbing anymore. I can live with the balance I saw tonight.
I kept thinking, "OK, WHY do Chandler and Phoebe care in the slightest?" This is very much in character for Monica, but I really can't see Chandler being genuinely interested in the matter (though he might be bullied by Monica). I totally do not see Phoebe caring. Not one bit. This would have worked better if Rachel had asked Monica to find her a date, and then ran into Sebastian. When Monica shows up with her candidate, Rachel wants Sebastian, and Competitive Monica goes into insulted overdrive. Chandler might be around to pretend he agrees with Monica while quietly suggesting to Rachel that she date who she damned well pleases, but I do NOT see him getting all worked up about it. And Phoebe? Nuh uh. Phoebe should have been over in Ross' corner playing Greek Chorus all night and asking if any of the guys at the beach might be named Mark. Then she might ask if any of the guys at the beach were named Susan, get a nasty look from Ross, and discuss that song, "A Boy Named Sue."
It was kind of amusing - I'd give it a B+ there, but the writers showed some deep lack of understanding about longterm character motivations, and a few of their mistakes were kind of large and glaring. It gets a C from me.

I dont understand that at all....but one comment that Ross made.."Dont you dare give him any money!" so maybe Chandler hadnt made up his mind yet..or maybe he was sick of constantly giving him money?? Chandler has been helping Joey a lot this season..remember in the last episode Chandler brought up the money he owed him..

yes but one other thing we do know is that the group has always picked up on things like that.. Remember thats one reason why Chandler and Kathy broke up. Plus didnt Chandler and Joey both mention something about Rachel and Mark? We've seen the girls do it a lot too. I think the group has always done this..they could have thought about his feelings more or maybe they just wanted to make him aware because it is true that that is what happens on Spring Breaks most of the time..especially in college...
remember he had said that on his Spring Break he went with his father to Egypt or something...he was quite nerdy in college so why would he have thought of that?

I would have liked your idea for the storyline better..thats one thing I didnt like about this episode..Chandler and Monica were definitly Mondler...it was too much for me..They were attached too much.. Thats probubley why my fav scene was with him and Joey.. I didnt like the fact that Chandler was being so competitve, almost more than Monica! One line that I have been curious about is. "Chandler, do you think we talk about our relationship enough?" that line was so out of the blue and had nothing to do with the episode. I think we are seeing that something is going to happen in their relationship...because I think even Monica is starting to feel like their relationship is on a platueo *sorry I cant spell that word-finetically spelled it would be platoe* What do you guys think about that line?

Yup. I definitely liked this version of Ross much better. I noticed all the things that Claire mentioned in the continuity problems (especially the money issue with Chandler and Joey), but I had written it off as exactly like you explained - Chandler maybe considered it, but no longer feels an obligation like he once may have.
Phoebe was not herself. Rachel was ok, although the intro line she said to Joey (something like "It's a good thing you're pretty" right after he hit her up for 1/2 of the fridge) DID NOT sound like something Rachel would say in that situation.. That line just sticks in my mind as an example of something that doesn't fit.
Overall, I think the episode was ok, but not really memorable, except that maybe we can hope that it's just but one step in the "Return of Ross".
Well, apparently he also smoked pot in college, and hung out with a guy named Gandalf who knew how to PAR-TAY, so might he not have picked up the theoretical knowledge of Spring Break somewhere? Personally, if I had had the chance to go to Egypt with my dad for Spring Break, I'd have been much more excited about that than a kegger with naked volleyball afterwards.
Yes, but there Phoebe had a very definite personal motive. Everybody in the gang was basically kind of pissed at Chandler and Monica for lying to them for so many months and for making life so uncomfortable for Joey and Rachel. She was out to make them fess up, not just to win, but because she felt they owed their friends the full confession. That made sense. That was a great script. This was not so great.

that line sounds a little wierd but as a major C+M fan, and having read the future episodes.. i am not too concerned... if they break up.. I will be very very sad !! :(
After finding hope that Season 6 wasn't such a waste with the great episode two weeks ago, the nearly infantile nature of this episode finally clinched it for me: Season 6 blows.
My least favorite thing in this ENTIRE EPISODE Was Chandler. I hated it Sooooooooooo much. Poor Matthew :(
