there is another lose thread in the one with the kips. Raechel brings up kip chandlers old roomate but joey doesn't know who he is. But in the one where they buy that table joey brings this guy up when he talks about paying for it together.

This cannot be called a continuity error on the grounds that Joey did not know who Kip was in Season 5 yet he did in Season 1. Have you ever needed a reminder about someone whom you had never met, but somebody had once told you about four years previously?

No! I'm just pointing out that there is *only* one version of this episode in its original form, whether it is shown in the UK or in the US.

I agree, since my recording of the first run in Britain matches the transcript, as quoted below. However, when rerun the other night, the scene had been shortened, presumably to remove the word "bastard", changing what Joey knew.

I guess they might have just wanted to use it because it instigated Phoebe getting mad at Rachel.
