Friends locations in New York?

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me any of the locations are in real life? I think Monica/Joey/Chandler's apartment block is on (West) Houston Street (in Manhattan), but can you narrow it down to an address?

I'm sure this has been done to death in the past, but I can't get access to previous posts. :( Also, it's not in any of the FAQs I've found online.

I think they live in upper west vilage or something like that, if that's any help, but I'm not sure. I used to think they were in Greenwich village until someone told me they weren't
