DVD commentary comments

I was watching the season 6 commentary on disk 2 & they mentioned putting a blooper from "TOW Ross Got High" on the gag real that "MAY" be released to us at a later date. Did the blooper episode w/ Conan air after season 6 (I can't remember) and did it include the blooper from when Rachael made the trifle. They stated it was probably the funniest blooper/laugh they had on the show. I can't seem to recall it on any blooper scenes.

It would be completely awesome if they did put out a DVD that had nothing but 2 hours of bloopers & then all kinds of behind the scenes, interviews & pretty much everything we wish was added on the seasons DVDs as extras. I would totally pay $30 for that. I am a complete EXTRAS junkie though so that might have something to do with it.

Oh I did want to add one more comment.... So far watching the commentaries I have to say I am pretty disappointed. I expected them to be a bit more upbeat & humorous & with a bit more behind the scenes info. I still watch them but I am always left a bit disappointed after expecting to have gotten more out of it than I had. I have only seen a few of them so far. How do the rest of you feel about the commentary on the DVDs? Personally I would find it much more interesting (& probably more humorous) if it was members of the cast doing the commentary.

The Conan special aired right after 715: TOW Joey's New Brain. It's the one where Ross is playing the bagpipes, and at the end, Phoebe is singing along with it. I believe they showed a blooper scene at the end of the episode, instead of a regular scene, as they went into the Conan special.

I am always left unsatisfied by the miniscule set of bloopers that appear on TV Series DVDs - when they appear at all, which is about 1/3rd of the time. i would love to see 2hrs of blooopers on one show. You know they have 'em around, why are they so stingy with them?

Again, it's not just "Friends". I have gotten to the point on all the TV shows I have on DVD where I just skip the commentaries. With few exceptions, they are done by full-of-them-selves writers or producers who love pointing out the super-obvious and bask in the glow of their long developed plans for this or that character, or else they are cast members who can barely stop poking fun at hair-styles and other quirks and snickering at each other long enough to actually give an interesting piece of info or two.

Joss Whedon on BtVS, JMS on B5 - these are about the only commentaries I find worth listening to.

I've listened to the BKC commentaries on seasons 1 and 2 and, assuming I was able to stomach all of them, by the end of season 2 I was sticking my finger down my throat. As a matter of fact, that's one reason why I have not bought any more seasons in the Friends collection. Just 1 and 2.

I've watched all of the episodes with commentary and I have also found them to be pretty disappointing. The special features on the discs are pretty lame too. I wish they had included the Conan O'Brian blooper episode on the season 7 DVD. It was a shame that they didn't. I hope they include the "I'll be there for you" music video with one of the seasons.
