My English is so bad that I cannot understand some jokes. What's the meaning of below..? Why is this funny..? And after this Chandler's talk, what did Monica said..?

Don't be so hard on yourself about your english. I was born and raised in New York City just blocks away from where Friends is supposed to take place, and English is my first (and only) language, and even I don't understand those jokes.

Well, look at a map, or better the silhouette of Oklahoma (or Texas or Florida), you'll notice, it looks a bit like a pan. The narrow part is called the pan handle (or panhandle, even though it also means something completely different). The crotch joke is obvious, though. Yes, this took me 2 minutes of googling and I didn't check the shapes of Connecticut (which jerk invented that spelling?) or Wyoming for similarities of shower heads or waistbands. It's good to see that there are cultural jokes that not even every US-American gets. And why is NYC the Big Apple?

Hi Maro! Have a look at a US map. The State of Oklahoma is shaped like a so huge pan and has a so called "pan handle". It looks close to this:

Well, okay, I have lived in the United States all of my life, and even I don't really get the whole joke.
I mean, I understand the pan-handle deal. Several states have one although the best example is Oklahoma's. I also understand the shower head of Connecticut. That part is funny because the little part of the state that sticks out near NYC looks a bit like a shower head.
But what in the world is the waistband of Wyoming? AND what would the crotch be? Wyoming is one big square. I don't get it. I mean, wouldn't the Louisiana boot be better? Or the Wisconsin thumb? Or the slightly chubbier Lower Michigan thumb? And how about the dog-face of Maine?
There must be a bunch more.
I don't think he was referencing actual nicknames of actual parts of states. If he were, it wouldn't be humor, it would just be literal. There isn't a waistband of WY or a shower head of CT; he's just making a joke about the idea of naming geographical shapes after real-world objects.

Is the joke supposed to be funny BECAUSE Wyoming doesn't have a waistline on which to put a waistband? It seems to me that that would only be funny if he's saying that the panhandle of OK doesn't look like a panhandle. Wouldn't it have been better to talk about the panhandle of Nebraska? I mean, *that* panhandle is WAY too fat to look like a pan handle.
So let's try this.
"What's up with the panhandle of Okalahoma? Or Nebraska? A panhandle on Nebraska is like a waistband on Wyoming. 'I was born in the waistband of Wyoming, but when I was seven we moved to the crotch.'"

Actually, yeah : ) I thought most of Chandler's jokes were a little forced and not that funny; maybe if he'd been a little more relaxed and less desperate in his delivery it would have helped.

But I think that was the joke. Suddenly instead of making his usual sarcastic comments, he's coming across like a stereotypical stand up comic. It was the exact same format that is usually seen in comedy acts where there is rapid fire jokes. To see him do that I thought was funny; that the jokes were sort of lame makes it funnier. He's trying to be like a Big Time Comedian, yet his material is not big time. He has the routine down fine, he could be a real comedian, but his material stinks.
