Funny, I just watched ep 6-01 yesterday. Anyway, apparently, they are divorced. Ross didn't want to get divorced 'cause he didn't want to be "That Guy." But Rachel pestered him. It lasted a few episodes, and by the end of the storyline, he got the divorce papers, and both signed. Well, at the end of the episode, you are made to believe that he gave the papers forthe divorce. But, you never see it...I say it like this because it is a far shot, but they might still be married, if the writers are dumb enough to bring the story line up again. I think they're divorced, though.

To me, it's made clear in TOW Ross Got High that they are actually divorced. Remember Ross & Monica telling one another's secrets to their folks ? "Ross got married and divorced!!! AGAIN !!" says Monica. Now before you all yell at me, I do realise there's a chance Ross may have told everyone it was "all taken care of" when it really wasn't but I highly doubt it. Even though some people here think this season is bad, the writers aren't lame enough yet to drag that storyline on a whole season! especially since no mention of it has been made farther.

Nope, I'm from the US. I know Ross has referred to her as an ex-wife many times. And you're right, they both signed the papers. But, I only said that they didn't show Ross physically give them to the divorce lawyer. It was a little joke, because I think the worst story line would be if they ever brought up the fact that he lost them behind a desk in Phoebe's apartment and they burned up in the fire...
