Another busy week... month really. OK, I'm typing quickly... I'm typing quickly...
Hmmm... not in the best category but just enough laughs to not be in the worst. In other words... I didn't doze off but with a short of Nyquil I probably would have during one of those no-laughs 3-minute periods. First off... Elizabeth. I like her... character that is. She's sweet but I don't see her and Ross going anywhere. And she's not doing anything for the show. Not that she can't act- she's Gwyneth Paltrow compared to the Elle scare earlier this season... but she's not funny. At all. It's not as if Emily and Julie were all that amusing... though Helen was a fine actress who managed to score a few laughs in S4 and once or twice in S5... but at least they provided enough significance so that the other cast members could score off some really good jokes. And Elizabeth doesn't do that. OK, so she's young. Didn't we already have Ethan? Anybody remember the whole Power Ranger bit from "TOW THE ICK FACTOR"? Well, of course you do. That was brilliant. And now it's just... well the show is developing an ick factor. None of the gang was able to provide for me even a chuckle besides Phoebe when they tried to mock Ross's relationship. "OK, OK, OK- I've got a good one. So what is she- like twelve?" And the chuckle with Phoebe was because we were laughing at a lame joke. Ironic, isn't it? I'll give them one thing though. Ross's dance at the end scored a giggle. OK, another attack of the Mondler. Granted they threw Phoebe in too to try and make it seem inconspicuous and distract us from what was happening but it just didn't pull through. Looks like Chandler's developed a competitive side. Yes, we frown on that in my mind. At least last season we got to see him jeer Monica for her antics but this season he's joined in. :-( No more jeering? So sad. The writers truely are running out of material with him. Anybody else notice they've been trying to fill the hole with little hints of homosexuality? Don't get me wrong, I really don't think they're going anywhere with this. I doubt they'd shove off Monica for BRian in payroll- Gawd, will that be the day- but they're also... not funny after about the 18th time. And they precede the definition of a "quality". I'm guessing the writers liked Three To Tango so much they decided to a little crossover. Anybody else think Vegas last season was a lot like Fools Rush In? And with Bruce Willis gueststarring... Whole Nine Yards? Sure, it's not a storyline but it does hold a smidge of significance in the pattern I'm detecting. Ah, Joey. My darling Joey. Always come through with at least 7 good ones despite the limp storylines they give you. True, Joey's humor didn't light a candle in comparison to the previous episode but all you have to do is just think FRIDGE and JOEY- and ya crack a smile.
