Chandler is coming out *this* season.

It has been a rumor. Many have talked about it. But, I tell you, in this season, Chandler Bing is coming out of the gay-very-homosexual closet (and he might like Ross). There have been many hints in the season.

• Today, when Chandler said he used to undress his cousin.

2. The one when Chandler can't pose for pictures. At the end, it was Joey who had the pictures taken with Mon. When she says about how their children would be, Joey says, "We don't have to imagine" or something like that, Chandler says, "I' marrying her." Then Joey says, "We'll see about that."

3. When Chandler says "wow" when he sees the picture of Rachel's new boyfriend.

• When he sits on the lap of Papa Geller.

Could it be any more obvious???? I had not seen so many things like this on all the episodes I've watched

PS. It would be cool if Will (you know what Will) or Jack (u know...) meet him. A crossover would be wonderful.

Like the rumors that Matthew Perry would replace Pierce Bronson as James Bond, I'd like to say absolutely, 100%, ridiculous! If this were to happen even before Chandler and Monica tie the knot (by) the end of the season, I'm willing to bet an army of angry viewers would storm into the Warner Bros. studio where Friends is filmed and give the producers and writers a thing or two about Chandler.

Hell, it could happen.

BTW, it was Ross' first wife, Carol, who came out as a lesbian shortly before the series started. (This took place during TOW The Flashback that aired on the night of 10/31/96.)

Chandler is not coming out this season.

BTW in the Best of Friends episode, the London wedding eps, when Phoebe says to Rachel after she asks why they didn't tell Rachel she loved Ross, and Phoebe said it was like telling Monica she liked things clean, she then says "Or like Joey being gay" and Rachel goes "What?!" and Phoebe replies:" Oh come on she's always got a broom in her hand".

There have been gay hints with everyone..Monica & Rachel's arguments (Monica trying to convince Rachel that the shopping with Julie was "nothing"), C&J's arguments, (like when Joey asked Chandler if Eddie's eggs were better and Joey got offended)..Joey & Ross napping together, Rachel told Tag that Phoebe was a lesbian..it's not that uncommon.

I dunno. It's one of those things where I don't see it as very feasible--it would almost be too much of a ruse for ratings...on the other hand, the writers have shocked us before (like Chandler and Monica sleeping together in the first place and Ross and Rachel ultimately getting married). Matthew Perry had once said that happy couples are boring, which made me think that in the end, M & C might not end up together.

Didn't Phoebe say to Monica (at the museum where she signed up for the wedding waiting list) that wouldn't it be a big surprise if Chandler said he was gay?

Anything's possible, but would the writers really do that after Chandler has had quite a few relationships with *women*? I mean, Will (Will and Grace) at least found out he was gay in college.

He mentioned in the US mag article from a few months ago that he wants to settle down and start a family like his character..he's just growing up.

Chandler isn't gay..I don't think you could have sex with that many women and be gay..you would think he'd know.

That's what I'm thinking. I could maybe "buy" the gay Chandler thing if he hadn't had the string of heterosexual relationships prior. I've noticed in a few shows how a character, after being seemingly hetero into his/her 30's, and maybe after being married, or at least having prolific hetero relationships, decides that he or she is gay. Is this really how it works? The few gay friends that I have mention that they knew either in college or well before.

It's interesting that there have been hints about gay Chandler for years (even his dad is), but I think the writers would be really messing with us if they go this direction. If that were the choice they wanted to make, they should have done it much earlier in the series.

I would say they're not having any problems in that department.

My theory is that The ChanChanMan, like in real life, picked up some "perceptions" about others from his father. In the Bing family, it was probably verrrrrry normal to say another man was hot. Fur cryin' out loud, he's got a gay dad and a trash-novel authoress mother.

No! Chandler ain't gay. I mean, how would that make me look! All my friends know I "love" Chandler (in a very friend-to-friend way, no man-to-man way), and to be honest, afte seven seasons, that would be freakishly wierd. Besides, people thought that after season one, but no-one believed it after a couple of seasons. Thank GOD!!

One thing that no one points out in this debate is that this is a comedy, and homosexuality is still (in the US at least) a reliable old stand by for comic material. So of course any sitcom will be full of gay jokes, especially one as sex obsessed as Friends. It's also the obvious way to show a hypersensitive and insecure character like Chandler at his worst.

I suspect the writers put Monica and Chandler together to give us a rest from it all, but they've now decided we're ready for it again.
