The only truly consistant thing about TOW is the TO. So, why do we always write TOW? It's not important, but I'm just wondering. I have some peaves about our English language in general too, but I'll leave those to the side for now.

In many languages, romance languages included, the subject comes after the verb in a questions. English speakers sometimes have difficulty with syntax when speaking other languages too.

Greg, TOW is an abbreviation for "The One With" or "The One Where...." in reference to the show episode titles.

I didn't understand this at first either, and not only that--I didn't realize that Friends episode titles were actually labeled this way. I thought people were adding their own random thought to "The one with" so that's what I did.

So....belated apologies to all those who couldn't figure out what I was referring to when I'd mention things like "TOW Rachel's flannel shirt." :-)
