According to the Metro this morning (they have a photo to back this up) three endings have been shot to what might be the series finale.
One of the endings has Rachel giving birth in hospital, with Ross by her side. She suffers complications. The baby is born, but Rachel dies as a result. She tells Ross to allow Monica and Chandler to adopt the baby.
Matt Le Blanc says it's 50-50 whether or not the show will come back, but Jennifer Aniston wants the death ending to be used.

If they go with the death ending then, IMO, that would negate everything that came before. It's a comedy show, why would they want to end with a tragedy? I hope this turns out to be false and the writers earn their pay and end the show properly.
Honestly, I don't believe they will let it end that way, I just can't believe it.

There is no chance this is the right ending. Not only is it an incredible downer, but there is absolutely no good reason at all why Ross should allow anybody to adopt the child. This is a no-brainer, folks. Men are raising their children alone all the time. If the reverse were true, and Ross died in a car crash on the way to the hospital while Rachel delivered a healthy child, nobody would even consider having Rachel give the child to Chandler and Monica. This is a sexist idea.

They have not even shot the ending yet. Metro does not know what it is talking about.
Could Rachel's death BE a more BS plot line?

I read that too but the picture Metro used is from last weeks episode when Joey dreamed he was with Rachel when she gave birth to "Ross"!!!!! at the start of episode 814.

I just wanted to say that if they are trying to keep it a secret then first of all how would these people find out about it, and second, (if it is true, which I don't believe) they wouldn't use this ending then because it isn't a secret anymore.

But Friends stopped being funny a long time ago. Ratings this season has been due to Rachel's pregnancy , R&R, the now budding R/R/J relationship and drama like cliffhangers not for its witty one-liners or comedy which are far and few to be honest. In the realms of a soap drama in my opinion and Star has always been terrific when it comes to proposed endings for dramas.

Well, Rachel dying isn't very clever. Even, if JA doesn't sign for a next season, they'll most likely send Rachel off to Europe than kill her.

How about: Joey can't stand being around Rachel if he can't be with her, so he moves to LA so he can continue acting. I know he is still on DOOL but you never know what can happen with that job. that would be a way to break up the group. the group doesn't have to break up to end the show, but I think that would be the easiest way to end the show.

Actually, DOOL is shot in LA. So, it would be quite convenient for him to move to LA. :)
But why should he move? MLB isn't the one threatening to quit. Its DS and probably JA and LK.

I was just saying that would be an easy way to do it if they aren't going to continue. i know that DOOL is shot in LA, but the writers of Friends has changed that so it would be hard for them to say 'well, it is actually shot in LA why don't you move there'. I just think this would be a very easy way to end it. Ross won't move away. He has 2 kids in NY. it would be much harder for hime to move. Maybe Joey can take Phoebe with him.

Yeah!! Definately better than J&R even though they looked good in TOW the Date. Although R&P also have a chance...basically R&R(i think it might be over...we'll see) and R&J(Rachel doesn't love Joey in return) aren't quite so possible right now.

There are apparently nine episodes coming. They could do a lot with nine episodes! Why, we could even see new characters, or better yet (yes I'm really getting into this idea), they could have Rachel end up with
Gunther!
The more I think about it, the better I like the idea. The fact that he's actually rich, and now runs Central Perk for the fun of it makes it all a wonderful surprise for our former rich girl. He was an actor once, before he won the California lottery, which is the real reason they knocked off his character Bryce from "All My Kids".

You know what? I recently saw "The Object of My Affection" (or "Liebe in jeder Beziehung" as it's called in Germany) with Jennifer Aniston being the main character. There are quite a lot similarities between that movie and the current Friends season, well, besides all the gay stuff. The gay brother George of a friend of JA's character Nina -- I love that name -- moves in with her, making her boyfriend Vince, who she don't want to live with, jealous. Later she gets pregnant from her b/f, but asks George to play father. He regrets at this point, but later accepts, finds a boyfriend himself, yada yada. Nina doesn't end up neither with the father of her child nor the gay guy she love, but the third one (nice black cop, who once drove her home). Alan Alda is in it, too. You see, all the "who lives together with who" (whom?), "should a becoming mother be with the father" and "is it real love (between the queen and the freak)" stuff shows parallels to Friends. I'm not saying this'll happen in Friends, neither hoping, but there're obvious similarities.
