This has probably been hacked and diced before but...
How is it that Rachel meets Chandler at the Bar but doesn't remember who he is? And he apperently doesn't remember who she is?
I don't know which episodes happened in which order. But my only guess is that 3.06 was filmed before The One With All the Thanksgivings where they flashbacked to Monica & Ross parents and Chandler got his toe cut off... and the writers goofed up and didn't realize it.
Yes, TOW All the Thanksgivings was in Season 5, so either the writers messed up, or they didn't care. Not only that, but in the pilot, Monica introduces Rachel to everyone but Ross (whom she already knows). So, same situation. Rachel has apparently met Chandler for the first time three different times.
Now, in Season 6, TOT Might Have Been, the writers had Monica say, "You remember Chandler," since, of course all those other Rachel-and-Chandler-meet episodes had happened in earlier seasons. :)
i remember that the producers also mentioned this case in their audio commentary that when they write an episode they don't think of the "timeline"
