yeah, most of you are right, chandler's turned into a bland person

he's been like that since season five! I hate that. he's concentrating mostly on marriage and love now.

There's been nothing bland about Chandler in many episodes of S7, but I would say that Phoebe & Rachel are now getting the scripts they deserve, Joey has lifted his game, and Monica & Ross are now sweet again. The show is not called "Chandler", or "Ross & Rachel", its title is "Friends".

If I wanted to see a real person on TV, I'd tune into Survivor. When I turn on a comedy, I hope to see characters who are funnier, wittier, and yes, more sarcastic than real people.

Yeah, like all those scintillating Rachel/Tag stories, or Phoebe takes ibuprofen and freaks for the remainder of the episode, oh boy! Or, how about when Scientist Guy returns? Kudrow and Hank Azaria have terrific chemistry, but did we get to see them together for more than a minute or two? No, because most of Kudrow's airtime was wasted on a lame Phoebe/Joey story.

It was the Phoebe/Joey scene after David left which made that story.

I agree with this statement. The Phoebe/Joey connection, as they examined the relative importance of friendship in conflict with a woman's great love, was by far the best thing about the episode. A warm, realistic scene, nicely acted. It was great to see David again. I kind of hope Phoebe gets to run off into the sunset with him eventually.

I do not approve. In the slightest. I don't know which episodes had a funny, warm and appealing Monica (since I missed so many, it's quite possible that she's out there) but the hysterical whiner who screamed at Ross for this entire episode was very difficult to watch. Vintage screechy Monica. Viewed an invitation as a right and was rude to other guests as she competed with them to see who deserved to be invited most. While watching, I thought "Gee, why wasn't Monica invited? Maybe because she's a self-centered, nagging harridan and she can't stand her screechy ass?"

Yep - and you should see how sweet Ross was in the two previous episodes.

Oh, be fair - Monica wasn't screeching or screaming, but she was annoyed, and quite right to be so. Wouldn't you take it badly if you were snubbed by your cousin who had also been your best friend, and your whole family except for you was invited to the wedding? Note that as soon as Monica learnt that her cousin had good cause, she calmed down straight away.

Having said that all of that, Claire, I'm so glad you have watched an episode. Please give a few more a try before making up your mind. :)

If the cousin had been her best friend and she didn't know about the fiance, I'd say there's a much bigger problem going on than a wedding invitation. That's a sign of estrangement. In which case, Monica might want to be figuring out how she offended her cousin.

Note that as soon as Monica's sexual past was exposed for the world to see, she hushed up in humiliation. That "somebody you did" comment was meant to make Monica look bad. The implication is that she embarrassed the wedding party and herself with her classless behavior. Now, this is certainly the stuff of comedy, and I do not fault them for writing this story, which was very much in character - but there's nothing warm or appealing about the character in this episode.

Tennant, how many flat episodes of Friends do I have to watch before I have your permission to think its best days are behind it? I am not sorry I watched this episode. The reunion of Phoebe and David the Scientist guy was lovely and very well acted. Matt LeBlanc remains a warm and lovable treasure.

That's not 100% true. he still makes them sometimes. and he did steal the chessecakes in 711. that's not very chandler like at all.
