Jennifer Aniston in Vanity Fair

I'm surprised that nobody on this newsgroup has commented on the GORGEOUS photo Annie Leibowicz did of Jennifer Aniston for Vanity Fair's Hollywood 2000 issue. While I'd've preferred it if she was facing the camera more (you'd actually be a little hard-pressed to tell if its her) it is a great photo. It involves a waterfall and a T-shirt.

The info compliments her on her show, and compares her to a young Barbara Streisand with better figure than Babs ever did. It also mentions how she's on the cover of every magazine, first for her hair, then for dating Brad "Don't Talk About Fight Club Since Nobody Saw It" Pitt. The photo doesn't say much about her film career, other than "Object of My Affection."

Frankly, I think JA should be a big movie star by now. My advice to her? Team with Jeff Goldblum or George Clooney and do a remake of the mystery/comedy classic "The Thin Man."

I think you mean William Powell, not William Holden. Clooney might be better.

In case you don't know, The Thin Man was on the 30s novel by Dashiell Hammett about sleuthing spouses Nick and Nora Charles. William Powell and Myrna Loy played the married couple, Nick and Nora. Nick was an amature private investigator with a taste for liquor and Nora was an heiress who wanted to solve the mysteries mostly for excitement. They had a dog named Astor.

A whole slew of Thin Man movies were made. The Thin Man didn't refer to Nick, even though he was thin. It referred to the victim and/or killer in the first movie. A very young Jimmy Stewart appeared in one of the sequels.

Jennifer Aniston would be good as Nora Charles, a sweetheart of a woman, raised in a privleged background, eager for some excitement in her life. A modern remake would cut down on all the drinking and probably add something like "Nora knows martial arts and is a computer hacker" or something.
