newbie questions and stuff

hi everybody! I've just started *really* watching Friends, since I'm from germany and before I got myself a DVD Player I was stuck with the dubbed German version, which is not too good... So, I got Series 1 as a kind of early christmas gift, which is all I know for now (but I really love it plus Series 2 should be arriving on Monday ;-) )

Anyway here go my questions:

Question 1: which Friends Fansites would you recommend? Question 2: I've read on some page that the Friends DVDs currently sold in Europe are some sort of cheap rip off, which is why they aren't sold in the US and Canada, but instead Warner (or whoever) is working on a proper DVD collection (the DVDs I got look as if they copied the tape onto a DVD, "picture-quality wise") - Is this true? Q3: kinda related to #2: can you get the best of friends DVDs outside of the US and Canada? Q4: since there are all sorts of celebrity Cameos on Friends, how come they never got any band to play in Central Perk?

umm... I think I had more questions but I forgot them... so anyway, this whole Ross and Rachel really seems to go crazy over the years, from what I've read on the official page and as far as I can tell from what I've read here. My opinion on this whole "Rachel and Ross or Rachel and Joey" thing is this: If they come clean with one another and just become really close friends as they were in Series 1 when Rachel didnt know about Ross' feelings, there is no reason why she shouldnt get together with Joey, at least from what I know. I mean this way, Ross would still have a chance to be closer to his baby than with the first one and he wouldnt lose Rachel, and at least Ross knows Joey and knows that he's a good guy. So thats all for now from me

No, that's a load of rubbish. Someone has been lying to you. The DVDs sold in Europe are *full* seasons, not available in America due to syndication rights - and US fans are annoyed that they can't buy them in their shops.

The picture quality is not as good as DVD can be (which is very high) but they are still much better than ordinary video tape. If they look poor to you, then you need to buy yourself a better DVD player.

Just buy them over the internet. You will need a multi-region player.

The simple answer is that "Friends" is not that type of show: yet we have seen Chrissie Hynde sing there in 206 "TOW the Baby on the Bus", and also Chris Isaak in 212 "TOA the Superbowl (1)" - but both were in character.
