What will the actors/actresses in Friends do without the show?
I mean Jennifer Aniston has done several movies and so has CCA, Matthew Perry has done a couple but done too successful, but the rest of the cast have had even less movie success.
I wish they would just stay doing the show, but I feel the salaries they get are just outrageous. IMO

If the program you use to read news posting parses HTML in a message without your permission, then it will probably parse nastier things like JavaScript too... leaving your computer open to nasty things to say the least.

I think they will try to make movies but the movies that are made by tv stars are often bad. The best example is David Duchovny. He left the X-files because he wanted to make movies. And that movie "Evolution" was truely bad...

Sorry, that's bullsh*t. He didn't leave to make movies, he left because he saw where the show was going. And he had fulfilled his contract. "Evolution" wasn't a hit, but it made plenty of money and he's since gotten to work with people like Julia Roberts. Try not to generalize and lump every single TV actor in the same category.
I think the Friends actors will be fine. Jennifer and Matthew seem to want to make movies the most, and I believe they have the best shot at success in that area.

True. Which is not to say one or more of these actors still could not have a successful career in movies. Especially once the show is over and they are freed from always being identified with the characters they play on "Friends". Oh, who am I kidding - they'll _never_ be free from those characters. But I still wish them success outside "Friends".
I don't. I love "Friends", but for me that is all the more reason why I am happy to see it go off the air soon, while the show is still doing well in the ratings and the writing is still good. Soooooo many other TV shows stay on the air at least a year or two longer than they should, simply because the network/producers are determined to squeeze every last penny of profit that they can out of a TV show before they bleed it completely dry. Inevitably the quality begins to suffer - the writing declines, actors leave, the characters turn into idiots or pod-people. I've seen it happen many times before and it's always very painful to watch, worse than if the show had simply been cancelled, because it taints the memory of everything that came before. No, it's much better to get out while the getting is still good, while they can still manage to end it gracefully.
Sure, I'll miss the show. But it will still be available in syndication, and on videotapes, and DVDs. 9 years is plenty of time for any TV show to be on the air. And who knows - maybe there'll be some kind of reunion movie in the years to come.
Well that's one opinion. But apparently the show can support those salaries and still turn a profit. If not right now then certainly in the long run. The biggest sports stars and movie stars also command astronomical salaries. Some people complain about those salaries too, but the simple economics of it is that usually it's the "stars" who put the butts in the seats and are responsible for much of the profit, so if they can grab a bigger share of that profit, then I say good for them.
Now a lot of people would probably debate that last point, I'm sure. Even the biggest movie star in the world can have flops. But by and large, having a name like Tom Cruise on the movie marquee will put butts in the theater seats, just like having Micheal Jordan playing on the basketball court will fill a sports arena. And now, after 8 years on the air, the audience of "Friends" tunes on to watch these 6 characters who can _only_ be played by these particular 6 actors. Yes, some TV shows can survive, even thrive, after a major cast change, but I don't think that "Friends" could be one of them. These 6 characters, and the chemistry between them, are too vital to the success of the show. And it's not like Bright, Kauffman and Crane, or the execs at Warner Brothers, are out on the street with a tin cup because the actors are getting paid too much. Everybody's doing all right for themselves financially.

Lisa Kudrow has been in one big success--Analyze This (and she will be in the sequel), and she was showered with critical praise for her work in The Opposite of Sex. She may never be a big movie star, but will likely get consistent work in well-produced films. Not exactly shabby.
And Jennifer Aniston seems to be getting extremely good notices for her work in the new film, "The Good Girl."
