Yes Richard L Cox Sr was Courteney's father. She was very, very close to him. She had often admitted to being a real 'Daddy's girl' in interviews. I'm not totally sure when he died, although I read it was around Labor day. He had been ill for a very long time with cancer of the liver. Last June he came over to Los Angeles, (from his home in Florida) as it was Courteney's birthday on the 15th (and Father's Day) He said he was very weak as he was undergoing chemotherapy. I think Courteney had been aware that he was going to die, since late season 6.
Courteney was absent on the Friday they filmed TOW Rachel's Date. She had gone over to Florida to attend his funeral.
