I'm a lurker and an occasional poster, but I seem to notice- and not just on this board but on many others- a consistent problem with being considerate with other posters' feelings. Besides for spam, junk posts, and the sort, sometimes posters will ask a question that experienced posters will poke fun at and label as ignorant and a waste of time - sometimes with such loathing posts that they must be frightening these newbies right out of the virtual web! And do we really feel it is our place to go correcting people's spelling and grammer in a mocking, hurting sort of way- must we remind ourselves that not everyone is entitled to equal education opportunities? I'm not even talking about people born in foreign (outside US) countries! Look, maybe this is none of my business, but I can't help wonder that especially with everything going on, not just in the US but all over the world - and with so many people going the extra mile to be considerate towards others... Would it be so hard for us to maybe control the urge to put down a post, to respond in lavish anger, and instead take a deep breath, ignore offensive posts, and take the high road instead? Just wondering.

I'm all for respecting people with lower educational privileges than some of us, which can lead to spelling mistakes, which we should never mock. However, whatever your education, it is considered rude anywhere on the net to ask very simple questions, without consulting the FAQ. I actually think we are quite kind here, some messageboards require you to read the FAQ before even joining, and there are many messageboards with banned topics. We should never mock those less fortunate than us, but I think we have the right to flame those who are too lazy to do a little reading up.
