you guys are going to be so surprise.....rumor says that joey is the father...but rachel and joey didn't sleep together. remember few seasons back when joey said that he donated his sperm in the lab...that is how rachel got pregnant.......surprise!

Just because they did a close up of rachel doesn't mean she's the one that's pregnant, by the way. If she were pregnant though, the only potential father would be Tag (let's face it, she didn't sleep with Ross and I don't think she ever got drunk enough to sleep with Joey), but Tag and Rachel broke up a long time ago so she doesn't really have a reason to be taking a pregnancy test. Even if it were possible for Tag to be the baby's daddy, I don't think they would do something like that for the last season. Anyways, when pheobe found the pregnancy test Rachel and her both thought it was monica's. This makes me think that if anybody of the gang is pregnant, it's monica, maybe she just didn't want to reveal il yet. That's just my opinion.

According to the article posted on this board Rachel is pregnant! It was an interview with Kevin S. Bright, I think.

I don't remember it verbatim--it was a section with a lot of little blurbs, and it quoted her as saying that season eight will be the last season; that it's very sad, but that's the way it is. She cited a drop in ratings because of Survivor as a contributing factor, IIRC.

Does anyone wonder if the actors & writers ever actually TALK?? I thought everyone had agreed that this season would be it's last? I mean, I'm all for it going a lot longer, but I was also for X-Files going longer, but now I think they're just killing THAT (especially after the season 8 finale). The point is I'd hate to see that happen to Friends.

i sort of agree with you on this part. If it turns out to be a one night stand, I think that Ross will become very helpful to Rachel while she's pregnant (like he helped her when she cracked a rib, and he missed his tv thing to stay with her). He'll offer to help her take care of the baby and be the father figure. This will cause her to re-love him and they'll end up together.
I`ve heard rumours that Brad Pitt makes a special guest appearence in Season 8 of Friends, in a flashback episode involving a one night stand with him and Rachel.
Ross offers to help Rachel raise the baby as if it is his.
I`ve also heard that Season 8 is the final one, and Joey and Phoebe get together, and it ends with a spectacular double wedding ... Joey and Phoebe and Rachel and Ross.
We`ll have to wait and see....
