I was just preparing DVD vidcaps of S2-4 : TOW Phoebe's Husband, and I'd forgotten about the end scene when Rachel tries to seduce Ross to stop him sleeping with Julie. I don't know who was more mesmerised, him or me! :)
Anyway, this led me to wonder about the hottest scenes in the show. IMO this must be one of the main contenders!

ITA. But then again...what if the majority view is against abortion? It just comes down to the fact that...the government can't control what a woman does to her body. And also...there's such a thing as separation of church and state. Those bombing abortion clinics are mostly religous ppl. who are incorporating religion into their argument and since laws can't be based on religon it would be unwise to outlaw abortion.

Some might argue that laws, by there very nature, are in fact a society's means of documenting its own morality, and enforcing it. Morality and religion are always very closely bound as well. So, I can see that it can be a very difficult thing to separate religion and government.
The government in a democratic society must seek to establish a social morality (laws) that represent either the morals that cross virtually all religions involved, or at least represent morality of the majority of the people, as long as any majority view doesn't infringe on the reasonable freedoms of the minority. This particular issue doesn't seem to me to have a lot of contrast between views across the spectrum--it seems to me like widely varying shades of gray from one end to the other. No clear boundaries = controversy.

However others of us don't quite agree. Philosophically it is very difficult to allow abortion without allowing infanticide. Careful thought experiments show there is no clearly defined line in pregnancy that separates when killing is morally permissible and when it is not. This unfortunately means a newborn child, like late pregnancy abortions should also be allowed, which puts us on a slippery slope. The thought of killing a newborn baby foes not rest well with some people, like me.

Being a woman and having lived my life I have a great deal more hands on experience with this subject than you possibly could. When a woman has sex she does so knowing that the consequences may result in pregnancy. It is a choice she makes regarding her future. Choosing to terminate the potentiality of an unborn child is quite another thing.
