Courteney Cox Arquette has decided to go back to her maiden name, Courteney Cox. She says she and David Arquette are not getting divorced or separated or anything, just that that CCA was too awkward a name to have. OK whatever. She's had the name for over 3 years, you'd think she'd change it back much earlier.

According to the recent AP article, she has said that she's using Cox again for screen credits out of respect for her father, Richard Cox, who died last year of cancer.
She's keeping "Courteney Cox Arquette" on her social security card and plans to have their children use "Arquette."

Its all very nobel and hounourable to remember her dead Dad that way, but her career needs a flip, as Hollywood is an unforgiven place if your movies stink and go stright to video before vanishing without trace, and Courteneys last hit was Scream 3 in 2000, close to 3 years ago.

It's very touching for her to want to do that. I didn't know that her father passed away. I understand why she'd want to do it. My father also passed away. I didn't do what she did (change my name back), but I do understand it.
