The One Without the Ski Trip

Hi!

The following is the first bit of the closing credits of "The One Without the Ski Trip":

[Scene: Carol and Susan's, Carol is running to answer the door.]

Carol: (looking through the peephole) Ugh. (opening the door) Ross!

Ross: (entering) Hi! Sorry I'm late. Were you sleeping?

Carol: Ahh, nooo!!

I'm wondering: how many of you noticed that right after the "Ahh, nooo!!", Carol removes something from the tip of her tongue? A pubic hair, perhaps?

Am I perverted, or is this *really* good joke? :-)

I got that joke right away when I first saw that episode but my girlf at the time had no idea what I was chuckling at - had to explain the whole muff thing...

I think I noticed it the second time I saw that episode; since then I've shown it to a couple of people. Most of them saw it right away (with me only hinting there's 'something strange going on'), others I actually have to point out to what's so funny.

Something I've also noticed, is that if you don't notice the jokes right away yourself, you can sometimes hear that you're missing something, based on the "laughter" in the audience. When Carol says "Aah, no!!", the (canned?) audience starts laughing based on that, but a split second later, there's a slight increase in the volume of that laughter, as if they only then realize how funny the pubic hair thing is.

This (= laughter in two 'waves') also happens in the episode where Rachel tries to make a trifle --I don't remember what the official title of this episode is. Anyway, Ross discovers two pages of Rachel's cook book are sticking together, and Joey yells, angrily: "Chand-lerrr!!" First the audience seems to laugh solely based on Joey's response, then they realize *why* it is funny.

The change in laughter is subtle, or am I just hearing things?

I'm sorry for asking this stupid question, but I didn't understand why the audience laughed when Joey yelled to Chandler, and certainly I didn't realize *why* it is funny. could you explain it to me pleeeeeeeeease??

I knew there was something odd about that scene. It wasn't that funny but for some reason a memory of it stayed with me. Somehow it, kinda lingers....
