Does anyone else find themselves watching Friends out of obligation rather than anticipating another great comedy? Seems that the writing has gone downhill so much (Ross coming on to the cop!! Come on!!!!) that if this were a new show I would just cruise right past it.

No, I still look forward to it with as much enthusiasm as ever. The quality may have declined slightly but IMO it is still one of the top shows on TV.

A few eps ago i would have said that it is still the same, but i have come to accept that it is clearly not as funny as it used to be.
Friends used to be my ultimate fav show behind Buffy/Angel, but now those two are clearly in the lead. I still watch Friends and enjoy it but it just isn't the same. I know that shows cannot survive forever and i complement the writers for still giving us fairly belivable storylines. It is just that i don't sit in front of the tellie for the 10 mins before it is on, anticipating it like i used to.

To right, this will even my my first post in what seems like ages to this newsgroup. Every Thursday night I watch it just because I've stuck with the show since day one but I find myself longing for ER more than I do for Friends.
