Matthew Perry: Ally's New Friend

Ally McBeal will soon have yet another man in her life. Friends star Matthew Perry is about to sign a deal to guest-star in two episodes of the Fox series as a "cocky, successful and opinionated attorney who wreaks havoc on Ally's personal and professional lives," a show spokesman told Variety. That shouldn't be much of a stretch for Perry, who plays the sarcastic Chandler Bing on the long-running Friends.

Ally producer David E. Kelley isn't divulging many details about the episodes in which Perry will appear. What he will reveal is that the two shows will air back-to-back in April, and that Christina Ricci (Sleepy Hollow) will guest-star in the same episodes.

Perry, along with his five Friends co-stars, this week signed a $1 million per episode contract for a ninth and final season of the show.

In other Friends news, NBC said a story in the current issue of the supermarket tabloid The Star, titled "Jennifer Aniston Dies in Baby Tragedy," is completely untrue, according to E! Online. A network spokesman said the storyline had never been considered.

I believe it's only a two episode appearance. So it's no big risk there (at least not for the story line).
