I think the episode that will be nominated for a emmy will be the one with the routine and Matt Leblanc and Lisa Kudrow will also be nominated.

Not a chance this year. Not one of the episodes this year has proved to me that this season is Emmy-worthy, except for *maybe* TOW Chandler Can't Cry. And quite frankly, I don't think Matt and Lisa are on screen enough these days to get any awards; neither of them has had *any* material of any substance these days. Then again, neither has Rachel. Actually, I just realised something. For a writing staff that supposedly don't like Ross a great deal, they write an awful lot for him, don't they? (Irrespective of whether or not what they write is actually *good*...)

The actor is good. Actually, if he turns in the right episodes for Emmy consideration, I am not sure *David* is out of the running for an Emmy nod. If, of course, he turns in crap like TOW Unagi, well....
I totally agree, Claire. TOW Unagi was total crap. It was one of the worst episodes I've ever seen. The most memorable episodes for me this season was TOW It Could Have Been. The acting by David and Courteney in TOW The Routine was great and it was great episode too. I'm trying to remember what was sp special about TOW Chandler Can't cry but I can't quite seem to remember. When I see the re-run, I'll remember!
I don't think Friends will be nominated this season at all. I think Malcolm in the Middle might get a nomination (http://malcolm.hollywood.com). I've heard some great reviews for that. One of the cast might, but highly unlikely.
What about TO The Last Night? Anwyays...
Malcolm is too new and hip for the Emmy committee. So, I doubt it will get anything--although the mother may get nominated. As well, it's not nearly as funny as Friends.

Yes, but does David choose what he considers to be his best work, or do the producers? The two perceptions could be very different. The problem is, has the majority of his work this year been of Chandler Can't Cry standard, or has it been of Unagi standard? There's a very fine line between the two this year, which could hurt his chances.
People don't get nominated for their work all year. They get nominated for two specific episodes that they turn in. Actually, I was thinking David should turn in 603 and 622.

I thought they turned in more? And again, is it the actors or producers who decide what episodes their best work was in, because I still say the two's perceptions could be very different - for all we know, BKC could consider Unagi David's best work ever! I won't hold my breath for any Emmy nods until we actually see them this year.
Whatever you think about the season, look at the competition. Friends will clearly get nominated, as will Frasier (ugh), Ally McBeal (a down year for them too), Everybody Loves Raymond (except for me), and Sex and the City (although I found their second season dominated by too many "Mr. Big" episodes). And if anyone says Buffy, then you must not have been watching the fourth season (I HATE Riley!)...

Ah, so I'm not the only one, then? I think "Hush" might get one for best writing, simply because it's so unusual to get an episode which relies on a complete lack of dialogue (and sheesh, those Gentlemen guys scared me!).
ohh my god, Hush was SO good!!! And for the record, I like Riley :)
Maybe not Best Writing since there's actually very little "writing", but definitely something.

I actually did mean "Best Writing", because it was one of the most unusual TV scripts of this year, let alone one of the best written. And if Frasier gets ANOTHER nomination this year, then "Hush" definitely deserves one in comparison. Just because an episode doesn't contain the usual amount of dialogue, it shouldn't be disqualified from receiving a Best Writing award if it's still well-written.
Ugh, I found Hush so overrated. Why not get someone like Cordelia to return to Sunnydale for a minute, and let her scream? How hard would that be? And way too much Riley--anything with Riley is going to be badly written.

I said that all wrong. I should have said that there was very little "speaking". Hush could win Outstanding Writing, Outstanding Visual Effects, Outstanding Directing, or Outstanding Makeup. I would be happy to see it win any of those. I didn't put best actress or actor because I can't stand Riley either and I think Buffy has an attitude now, and I don't think the rest of the cast stood out from each other enough to make best supporting. =)

Oh, yeah, see what you mean now. And I agree about Buffy and Riley - the last time where Buffy wasn't a complete bitca wasn't even on Buffy the show, it was on Angel, more specifically "I Will Remember You" (which is the only full ep of either Buffy or Angel I've got on tape) - yes, I am a Buffy/Angel 'shipper. :)

Yea I saw that. Ross seems to dominate the list and Monica the opposite. That's interesting. Especially since in season 5 with the C&M stuff yet Rachel had the most lines.

Tennant, I was talking about whether the actors had had any *decent* material, not how many words they've been given! I don't think that the vast majority of people really give a damn as to how many words a character's been given, if the *storylines* aren't up to anything.
