Question about cliffhangers

Did they tape last season's cliffhanger in front of an audience?

Canned laughter. Hence the difference in laughs between the cut at the end of Vegas 2 and the cut in After Vegas.

Yeah but these were different takes. It was obvious that the first part of After Vegas (with the same lines from the last part of Vegas 2) was taped anew.

Really? Please point out examples, because as far as I can see the part which evoked the laugh track in question (from R&R entering the foyer to leaving the chapel altogether) was exactly the same, all that was different was the laugh track. They *do* use laugh tracks on occasion, you know.

No, I'm just saying that they tend to re-shoot the last fifteen seconds or so of the previous episode when they resolve cliffhangers. This happened at the beginnings of season 2, 4, 5, and 6.

And on the discovery channel special, I think they showed them filming the first scene (the cliffhanger scene) of 601 in front of an audience.

Well, i remember reading the spooiler. And i definitely remember reading about the "shocking moment" with you know who. (Some people may not have seen it.)

They filmed the C&M stuff in front of the audience, then kicked out the audience and filmed the R&R "shocking moment." If you read about the R&R thing, you probably read it about a day before the episode aired, because someone who saw the episode on satellite posted what happened. They *definitely* kicked out the audience for that. It was kept very secretive - even the scripts given out to people at WB had the last scene missing.
