Friends is so good that it is not terribly surprising that they have topped itself. Matt LeBlanc is so funny with that loveable comic charm. Friends has even managed to create a cliffhanger as huge as the Dynasty/Dallas years and given we won't see Friends because of the Olympics, they should change it from "must-see tv" to "can't wait to see tv".

This episode has to be better than 812 in my opinion(which was mostly drama)! It was so hilarious! Phoebe likes Joey...she wanted him to look under her top...making believe it was something she always does...but maybe she's trying to get close to him. Rachel didn't show any "love" signs when she was with Joey. She just missed him as a roommate. Joey was so depressing to watch. The dog was a cutie!
Chandler's expressions were hilarious during the video. And Ross saying "the red one" was even funnier. Well...i think there's going to be a 9th season...it would be REALLY foolish for them to end it when they are at the top of their games!

This eppy was halarious!! My favorite lines of the eppy have to be "Rachel look" (Chandler) "What, did her ass explode!" (Rachel) and "Screw you guys, you don't have to do this" (Rachel to Monica and Chandler when they mention how beautiful the experience is). I laughed so hard I fell on the floor. The whole birthing video story was one of the funniest stories this season!! :o)

That's quite a lot of viewers, but I think you might be right. The "who shot JR" cliffhanger was the first real cliffhanger, and won something like 85 million views IIRC, and of course, virtually everyone was talking about that cliffhanger all summer long--on talk-shows, in the news. It was incredible.
They won't have time to hype Friends as much, given the short hang of three weeks, but it will surely bring in very good numbers.

Back in the 80's night-time soap operas became the new rage. There was "Dallas", the first I believe, followed most prominently by "Dynasty" and "Knot's Landing". JR Ewing ( Larry Hagman who played Tony Nelson on "I Dream of Jeanie") was the most prominent character from "Dallas". His character was the prime protagonist of the show, and people loved to hate him. In the season finale one year, someone shot JR, but nobody knew who. We had to wait until the new season the following fall to find out.

No I don't think we will see her again but I didn't think we would see her again after the first ep of the season either. Now that the writers have 24 more episodes, nobody knows what they will do about R&R...They might keep them apart from a while so if it's not Mona, I'm pretty sure some other gal will show up and be Ross's gf.
