The monkey has returned. :-) I've just finished my four week tour of North America, but before I start writing here again, I really need to catch up on my sleep. Later!

Hey! Welcome back Marcel, have fun in your North American tour?
*~Ariel~* ~Chandler:Oh, look...it's the woman we ordered ~Pheobe: Oh, oh, oh! Guess what? Chandler: The last dentist caved and now all five recommend Trident?
A few episodes, but I promised myself I would forget them and I already have. :-) The thing that bugs me is that I set my vcr timer for month 8 instead of month 10. So I missed 4 episodes of S6. I guess I'll have to wait untill I get them in the store.

Well that's the media....the bigger the mess, the more deaths. The more deaths, the bigger the coverage. The bigger the coverage, the higher the ratings go. That's entertainmant! :-)
They would probably think of England as just a really big swimmingpool.

That's just it, at the edge of the aerial view, you can see the flood stops. The total area is tiny compared with the whole of England. And we keep being shown people 'rescued' in boats, except that the boat's being towed by a man wading through the water.
One man being interviewed was in despair because he'd replaced all of his carpets & soft furnishings a month ago, and to his great surprise it had rained again. On the lunch-time news the reporter said that converting a boat-house was just asking to be flooded, and stone floors & electrical sockets higher up would be more suitable, but in the evening news those sort of sensible comments had been edited out...
That's what they call "Reality tv", Tennant. Descruction and suffering is what gets watched the most. We've all watched shows like these with awe at least once and the fact that they use the news to air it for the first time just shows how tasteless the media can get.
I guess they discovered their mistake a little too late and decided that running it again was asking for trouble.

I'm not being not nice! I sympathise with you, honest.
Yorkshire & the Severn Valley are not the whole country, they are not even 1% of the whole country, and although the flooding is bad for you, it's not devastation. Think of Bangladesh where the river waters cover thousands of square miles, and huge numbers of people *drown*.
Eventually the water will flow back to wherever it came from and life in that part of the UK will be so normal again, that it won't be interesting enough to show it on the news.

Yeah... but what will happen after that, is it will rain again, and the flooding will get worse, but after so much coverage on the news the TV journalists will get so bored, that it won't be interesting enough to show it on the news.
We've had our share of floods here in Holland the last couple of years. None of them effected Amsterdam, but Southern Holland gets them all. And they still haven't made the dikes stronger as far as I know. It's like they want problems.
