What floor do they live on?

I remeber in earlier episodes that the apartments were low numbered indicating that they were near ground level. Now that's changed and I was wondering what level are they supposedly on?

The same with Ross 'cos he can clearly see into M&C's apt!

my impression of Monica's building is that there are 4 apartments per floor, so hers being #20, would put them on the fourth floor.

Ross, I am pretty sure is on the third... partly cuz whenever anyone used to look at ugly naked guy, they seemed to be looking down slightly, and also, TOW Rachel's Inadvertent Kiss... where Joey was looking for the hot girl, he said: " No. No. No. She lives on the third floor, eighth apartment from the left." and because he thought that was her apartment, when he got there, it was Ross'. Enough evidence for ya? :)

But in TOW the Giant Poking Device, wasn't the *Device* going straight across the way? Also, when Reese Witherspoon looked into Monica's apartment and saw Rachel and shut the drapes, she was looking up. So, I'm not sure where to go on this one. In terms of spoken word, though, I think you're right about Ross living on the third floor (Joey said so).
