does anyone have a list of every song that has been used on the show?

Go to www.friends-tv.org and click on Music. It lists music by which episode, etc. Darn near 100%.

Can someone please explain the freakish obsession people show about the music used on tv shows? As I browse newsgroups for shows that I enjoy, it seems that after every episode there is a thread asking for the name of a musical piece from the show. They often are asked by the same people week after week. If you are such a big freaking music nut, maybe just once you would already KNOW the song!?!?!?! Sorry. Had to vent for a minute.

I suppose there are people who are obsessed by it.

But I imagine much more common is the person who hears a bit of music, and likes it enough that they want to track it down. You hear the music for the first time, and you want to hear it again.

The credits are too small to read, or they don't actually list the music. Or, you can read the credits but it's not clear which title goes with which song.

I admit this hasn't happened to me much, but it has happened. When I first saw "Coming Home" when it was released in 1978, there were a number of songs that I did not recognize, but wanted to know about (including at least one where I guessed correctly the performer). Or more recently, I watched the remake of "The Thomas Crowne Affair" and wondered what the music was in the final museum. It turned out to be Nina Simone, not really a surprise.
