You know, if Friends were shown first in any other country in the world, say England, English people would probably not all use spoiler space either. I don't think you should label people as Selfish Americans, most likely they just don't understand or know about spoiler space.
Since you ha ve had previous post with Americans saying they would not use spoiler space as they don't see why they should, and there is a debate going on about this in this very newsgroup at the moment about the usage of spoiler space then I think it's safe to say my original post is accurate and still stands. The majority of Americans are decent people who wouldn't want to spoil Friends for any other people by revealing plots in the Subject line or not warning people about the content of their posts with the word SPOILER in the subject. And if some of us Brits were doing the same, I'd make the same comments about them being selfish.
