Phoebe Question

So ok, we know that Chandler and Ross are college roommates while Rachel and Monica were friends in high school. We've even seen how Joey entered their lives...

But where did Phoebe come from? All we know is that she used to be Monica's roommate until she moved out. But did Monica just ran an ad for a roommate? Then chose Phoebe?

Are we supposed to believe that someone as neurotic as Monica would choose a strange-stranger like Phoebe from roommate applicants? There must be some other connection somewhere... Anyone?

I can't recall if the connection between Monica and Phoebe was ever explained. I figure it's some kind of connection via a restaurant, etc., where Monica worked. I'm in agreement with you....I can't see Monica placing an ad for a roommate. ~~~ Kathy
