When Rachel calls Barry to apologize for running out on him at the wedding (101 Pilot) she says: "Im sure some other girl is happy to be Dr Barry Finkle" But in the eps later on, Barry's last name is suddenly Farber... Stupid mistake...

Not really. The scene where Rachel calls him Finkle was from the original pilot. It didn't make it to the broadcasted episode. Thankfully, the producers took the opportunity to think a bit more carefully about Barry's last name.

Yes, the DVD has the uncut version. As JRM mentioned, that is not the version that was broadcast.
