You would have had to be here for a bit. I started coming here in '98.... (Yes, Under [email]) It's really an insult to me to reply to this. I don't know Lee all that well, but I've read a few of his posts... he lives up to the name 'Funny1'. The people who have been here a lot longer than I have and come here more frequently than I do can help you :)

Lee has been friend to many of us here (and has pissed many off as well--in fact, I think he pissed off a few of the people who now consider him a friend :).
He was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the end of December, and he and his wife, Jenny, have had no end of problems since the initial operation in which they removed as much of the tumor as they could.

Well it was exactly 8 weeks ago that my life became a living hell and
now it is quietly winding down. Lee is now home and safe with me and
my mother, along with his cat, Fred and my dog, Roo. Even on the last
day we encountered more troubles! As the So.Cal people know, it was
torrential down pour today and we were scheduled to leave around 9AM
this morning. Due to the rain and a few more items to be delivered by
the hospice to the house, the journey was delayed. We were
rescheduled for 1pm.
We gave Lee his bolus of pain meds to keep him on the journey home and
during set up when we were notified that the ambulance that had been
ordered didn't have a paramedic qualified to transfer a patient with a
central line. Geesh! So we had to call another ambulance and they
would be there in 20-30 minutes. At least by the time they got there,
the rain had stopped. We took Lee down and loaded him in. I drove in
front so that the driver wouldn't get lost or wonder where this place
was.
We arrived by the time it was all said and done, somewhere around 3pm.
Lee was very peaceful.
On an unusual note, Lee has been very active in some ways. Not the
thrashing around, but rather just moving his arms,scratching and
trying to talk of all things! I wish we could take his trach tube
out. He keeps saying things but says them so quickly that I can't
read his lips and the left side is not active so it would be hard to
understand anyway, I guess. He did however say clearly, "owww" when
I pulled the hair playfully on his right arm. (twice I did it just to
make sure I wasn't seeing things.) Mom is watching him right now so I
have to make this short. I have been up here for several hours just
going over all the posts and weeding through the 78 email waiting for
me!
For all those So.Cal people who live near by.... expect a phone call
for groceries, etc as my mom can't drive a stick shift! lol
Thanks again for all the posts and I will give more details later. I
probably won't be posting as much just because things have remained
rather the same, for his condition. He is strong, so who knows how
long this will go on.....
