Smellycat: just a thought......

Hi,

I was wondering what it would be like if Lisa Kudrow would get the oppertunity to do a complete version of Smellycat, including a real videoclip. How would the lyrics to the rest of the song go? The other five would probably be included in the video, but would they really be singing? What about the possibility of a cd-single? Who wants to share their thoughts?

What I'd like to see is Phoebe suddenly realizing that the chord progression of "Smelly Cat" is the same as the chorus of "J.C. Superstar".

does anyone know the actual chords to smelly cat and any of Phoebe's other songs. cause I learn guitar and I thought it might be fun to try and play them

Okay, there is no video-clip as far as I know, but there is a complete version on the "Friends again" Soundtrack, called:

Maybe you can find a copy via Napster and then decide whether to buy the album or not ;-)

I know. I got three new versions of it today, which puts the total of Smelly Cat versions at 4! :-) I renamed one of the versions "Extreme mix", because it has bits and pieces of every version she ever did on Friends, including the one she did with Chris Isaac.

Hehe, I tried again, and these are the chords. The version with Chrissie Hynde does actually have 2 extra lines, but basically it's all Emaj, Amaj and Dmaj.

If you are referring to version, that is being played in the series, then you might be right, but I didn't even managed to get the right pitch there. But believe me, these are the chords (or your sister is playing not the correct chords ;-p)

Uhm, just hold the 5th fret of the E-String. That's an A then. The second string is the A-string, so the second one has to be in tune with the first one holding down the 5th fret. Then you hold down the 5th fret of the 2nd string and tune the 3rd string Then you hold down the 5th fret of the 3nd string and tune the 4th string Then you hold down the 4th fret of the 4th string and tune the 5th string Then you hold down the 5th fret of the 5th string and tune the 6th string.

Now, if the 6th string sounds like the 1st, just 2 octaves higher, than you're in business

I don't know, how it is at your place, but when I pick up the phone, then there's a constant tone. In Germany, this is an A. So you could tune the 2nd string and from there the others.

yes, and seeing as I've only just started learning, all I can do right now is all the notes up to the fourth string, the natural scale, and a few chords, e,a,d,c,f,g maj being a few of those few
